Reporting to the Head of School, this front-line position will lead a strategic communications and marketing plan to support and advance the institution’s mission and vision across all aspects of school life.
Promote and develop key messages and branding that align with institutional priorities.
Oversee all digital media and print publications across school departments.
Oversee all weekly communications and strategic communications from school leaders.
Serve as lead writer for all communications.
Serve as lead web content producer and editor.
Develop and manage a social media plan.
Oversee all advertising.
Capture school life in robust and creative ways, through media, print, communications, video, and other mediums.
Required Skills and Abilities
Outstanding written and oral communications skills.
Strong attention to detail, editing, proofreading skills, and the ability to multi-task.
Skilled and polished writer with quick turnaround.
Ability to be a thoughtful leader, strategic thinker, experienced writer, creative problem solver and valuable team member.
Ability to work independently; a self-starter with high level of integrity and the ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion; must be professional in all aspects.
Ability to collaborate with administrative colleagues and other faculty is essential.
Understanding the full scope of Communications work, as weekend availability or access may be required at times.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to many constituencies including parents, donors, volunteers, and colleagues.

Required Education and Experience
A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in marketing and communications, superior strategic skills and a high level grasp of communications industry best practices, including marketing, media relations, branding, social media, and messaging.
Experience in independent schools preferred.
Proficiency with the Outlook, Blackbaud, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Power Point, social media tools, and experience in web publishing.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
