Essential Job Duties:
The Department of Teacher Education and Learning Sciences (TELS) invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor in Business and Marketing Education. This is a renewable one-year appointment with an expected teaching load of three courses per semester. We are seeking a strong teacher educator with experience in Business and Marketing teacher education who can contribute to the preparation of business and marketing educators at the undergraduate and graduate level.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in business and marketing education and general teacher education, coordinating an Initial Licensure Program (ILP) in Business and Marketing Education, recruiting and marketing for the ILP in Business and Marketing, advising students in the ILP in Business and Marketing, and ongoing course development.
The ideal candidate would have experience teaching at the K-12 level and experience in curriculum development.
Creating syllabi prior to the first class; teaching each class section; creating and presenting course activities to student; grading assignments, providing written feedback to students in a timely fashion, and determining final course grade; holding office hours; meeting with Program Coordinator and/or Department Head regarding instruction if needed; other duties that relate to the course(s) being taught. Manage day to day operations of the Initial Licensure Program in Business and Marketing Education.
Requires doctor’s degree, an equivalent degree, or equivalent professional experience.
A commitment to diversity, educational equity, and collaboration.
Scholarship and successful record of external funding in Teacher Education and Learning Sciences commensurate with rank.
Experience in coordinating field-based programs in Business and Marketing Education.
K-12 teaching experience in Business and Marketing Education.
