Essential Job Duties:
The Marketing Coordinator is a professional-level position that fills the gap between university goals and their achievement by providing strategic marketing planning as well as the execution and evaluation of innovative and effective marketing and communications tactics and initiatives. Working with high-level administration clients from across campus, the position will provide marketing services for a variety of digital, print, video and social platforms, with primary project manager responsibilities including client and vendor relations, scheduling, cost tracking, and billing.
Primary job responsibilities for the Marketing Coordinator position include, but are not limited to:
Developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies that enhance the NC State brand and supports the university strategic plan;
Creating marketing plans for campus clients and ensuring those plans integrate with the university's overall strategic marketing plans.
Creating and present scope of work proposals to execute everything from very broad, highly complex integrated marketing plans down to specific print, video or video projects.
Overseeing a diverse range of communications projects with project management responsibility from conception to completion or delivery including but not limited to planning, developing creative briefs, scheduling, overseeing creative, progress tracking, cost tracking, working with vendors; updating the client and evaluating results;
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-level projects with complex processes and timelines;
Act as client rep, acting as primary contact between clients and University Communications to ensure that outcomes meet requirements of university brand and expectations/needs of clients;
Act as liaison between NC State and various vendors to assist in the completion of a broad array of marketing and communications projects.
Working closely with the UCOMM Business office to ensure financial policies are followed.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
In-depth knowledge of marketing principles including expertise in developing and executing successful, strategic, integrated marketing plans; audience analysis and segmentation; messaging strategy, advertising, CMS, CRM, and other engagement strategies.
Experience serving as lead project manager for a variety of creative projects including experience working with vendors.
Effective interpersonal skills and a proven track record of establishing and maintaining internal and external relationships.
Bachelor's degree in design, web technology, marketing or communications with three years experience or equivalent project management experience of eight years.
Demonstrated leadership, training and mentoring abilities
Proven track record of vendor management including selection and coordination of freelance talent and agencies.
