![]() Webster University Position Number: S0891 Job Description Summary: Reporting to the Digital Content Manager, this position serves as a member of the Global Marketing and Communications (GMC) digital team providing multimedia content and communication strategies primarily for the University's website. This person uses their knowledge of web technologies, design, presentation techniques, and multimedia techniques, along with their writing expertise to collaborate with staff and faculty in the creation and maintenance of high quality web services that support the needs of the University and GMC. The person in this position combines marketing expertise with knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) to develop web content and has the interpersonal and team skills to also leverage the expertise of other specialists within GMC while combining with others throughout the University system to gather, curate, and create content primarily for the University's new website. This person is able to write and produce clear, concise, and attractive content aimed at recruiting and retaining students, while also supporting the fund-raising mission of the University. Minimum Qualifications Three to five years of professional experience writing and producing multimedia content primarily for web deployment. Bachelors degree in communications, marketing, information technology or related field. Three to five years of experience with interactive marketing, communications and/or information technology including a solid understanding of search engine optimization and search engine marketing. Strong writing and multimedia production skills with a portfolio of examples that demonstrate communications success. Ability to successfully communicate technology concepts to colleagues with varied knowledge and skills. Experience in OmniUpdate CMS or other related content management system. Experience in WordPress CMS. Skilled at Photoshop, Audition, Premiere Pro, and other multimedia software. Ability to proactively identify opportunities to improve website and digital marketing efforts through the use of new technology. Strong project management skills. Ability to multitask with strong time management and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Five to seven years of professional experience writing and producing multimedia content primarily for web deployment. Five to seven years of experience with interactive marketing, communications and/or information technology including a solid understanding of search engine optimization and search engine marketing. Experience in OmniUpdate CMS. Previous experience in higher education marketing preferred. Essential Duties Assist in the day-to-day management of the Webster University website, home page and attendant sites, and help conceive, develop, write, and curate web content for these sites. Adhere to the quality and brand standards set by the Universitys digital team and GMC. Foster a consistent understanding among faculty and staff to ensure digital marketing and communications meet University branding and messaging standards. Work with University faculty and staff on developing website content, while also creating original content. Work as a liaison with the Strategic Communication Department to guarantee an editorial content flow of fresh material for the Universitys website. Measure the effectiveness of content, messaging and other strategies in achieving the Universitys marketing and communications goals. Monitor and explore new and emerging technologies and technology applications; provide recommendations to the Digital Content Manager, the CCO, and GMC directors regarding these new technologies and applications. Collaborate with content experts, graphic designers, programmer/analysts and information architects to design, develop, enable, and enhance web-based solutions. Understand the fundamentals of the OmniUpdate content management system (CMS) and assist the Digital Content Manager and others on the team with management of that system and content when called upon to do. Other duties as assigned by the Digital Content Manager or other managers and directors within GMC.
