Mirman School seeks an experienced full-time Director of Marketing and Communication. The Director of Marketing & Communications is an exceptional communicator through multiple media, as well as a strategic thinker who is enthusiastic about the school’s mission, branding, and plans. Plays a significant role in crafting the “voice” and telling the story of the school. Develops and manages the branding, messaging, marketing, and all materials that capture the spirit and happenings of the school in authentic and compelling ways. Works with the Head of School, Board of Trustees, and Advancement team to develop comprehensive and strategic plans. As the leader of the school’s communications efforts, the position sets a strategy that keeps the school’s community and its supporters informed, continuously engaged, and invested in its success.

Bring innovative and new ideas to the school regarding marketing, communications, and branding
Manage relationships with multiple vendors on behalf of the school
Develop a comprehensive annual communications plan
Continue to facilitate and lead branding and marketing rollout
Maintain and manage website content using the school's CMS (Content Management System). Currently the CMS is Concrete5.
Serve as leader in developing awareness and momentum around school initiatives
Manage style/branding guide for entire school community
Actively market and manage the reputation of the school online
Advise and develop Head’s Office communications
Reinforce school’s profile by developing timely news stories and articles
Manage all external communications
Consult with Senior Administration to manage internal communications
Develop and manage relationships on behalf of the school with local media outlets
Project manage, coordinate, and help determine strategic initiatives for all digital and print materials, including admissions and other marketing materials, the school magazine, weekly school digital newsletter, annual report, and other materials as needed
Work with advancement team to produce inspiring materials to increase enthusiasm and support for fundraising and constituent engagement initiatives
Work closely with parent volunteers on all necessary communications and branding
Support administrative team, faculty, and students as needed
Document events, activities, and stories during the school year through photos, videos and writing
Work with Senior Administration to produce collateral materials for various departments
Keep a calendar of school communications and coordinate and streamline both internal and external communications
Develop and manage policies and procedures relating to communications internally and externally
Act as the voice of school social media accounts
Serve as the voice of the institution in the public eye at the request of the Head of School
Coordinate and facilitate the use of the school’s email client, MailChimp, among various constituencies (parents, faculty, administrators)
Assist Advancement Department with other department collateral (such as case statements, annual giving solicitations, alumni communications etc.) as needed
Update and manage the school’s digital signage using Concerto and working with the Front Office to create calendar content
Budget management (along with Director of Advancement and Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations)
Assist with basic graphic design and brand compliance with presentations and public-facing collateral
Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or marketing
7+ years of experience in marketing and communications with independent schools or nonprofit organizations
Outstanding organizational and presentation skills
Exceptional written and oral communication skills; interpersonal skills
Proven ability to effectively lead, manage, and inspire a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment with multiple creative projects
Creative and artistic vision and direction
Experience in desktop publishing design and management of design production
Demonstrated experience with photography, videography, website content management and design, and social media marketing
Demonstrated success as a confident problem solver
Proven track record as an independent and goal-oriented manager with a dedication to meeting deadlines
