The Director, eCommerce will oversee day-to-day operations of the Museum's eCommerce business in a fashion that keeps pace with industry trends, emerging technology, and customer preferences.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the day-to-day operations of the Museum's eCommerce business, including decisions around product selection, pricing, and marketing.
Define the digital marketing strategy for the eCommerce business, with a primary focus on search engine optimization and secondary focus on email and referral traffic.
Actively manage the P&L statement for eCommerce, making decisions to improve bottom-line financial results.
Work with the SVP FSO and the Executive Director of Retail to develop a strategy for increased profitability from online sales.
Evaluate opportunities to incorporate new technology-based and third-party solutions (e.g., Shopify) to support eCommerce.
Partner with the data and analytics team to develop and launch novel solutions to identify changes in customer behavior.
Identify trends and highlight opportunities to increase traffic through other Art Institute vehicles, including the Museum website, external communications, and social media channels.
Increase alignment with the Museum's style and brand through collaboration with communications, experience design, and imaging teams.
Determine tactics for engagement with Amazon, ranging from partnership to a defensive strategy.
Review and source fulfillment options to reduce expense, increase fulfillment speed, or both.
