The Digital Strategy & Web Services group at Columbia University Irving Medical Center seeks a Digital Project Manager to oversee digital projects.
The Digital Project Manager will play a key role in supporting the Digital Strategy & Web Services team and all technical resources. This person will be responsible for helping to define project plans, manage overall priorities and keep teams on track. The successful candidate will need to work closely with all digital resources, including marketing, content, product and web development.
The ideal candidate is someone who has experience in project management, preferably at a digital agency, understands the technical aspects of digital projects, is well-versed in the project management processes, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. As the liaison between marketing, content, product and technical teams, the Project Manager will lead meetings and set priorities and schedules.
Project Management Responsibilities (50%):
Lead and manage medium and large, complex digital projects consisting of multiple and often decentralized teams.
Responsible for creating and maintaining a real time list of digital projects and prioritizing them based on overall strategy and business objectives.
Build project delivery plans and timelines for marketing, content, design and technical projects
Coordinate day-to-day project tasks with teams
Manage timelines and deliverables to ensure on-time and quality delivery of projects
Analyze and review important metrics with regards to project delivery, reporting and make recommendations for improvements for new and existing processes
Proactively and independently look to solve problems and identify opportunities for improvement
Provide status reporting to leadership and stakeholders
Support the broader team in understanding and interpreting institutional and stakeholder challenges and goals
Gather information on our stakeholder business processes, critical success factors, and competition through interviews and research
Coordinate and participate in brainstorming session, project planning and delivery meetings
Develop presentations, documentation, requests for proposals, and other collateral as needed
Communicate and manage scope. Execute change management as needed.
Lead sprint reviews, retrospectives, grooming and planning sessions.
Configure JIRA sprint boards in line with Agile development life cycles.
Play integral part in release planning.
Facilitate discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution among team members.
Interact with marketing, product, content, and technical teams to ensure that each project is progressing as planned. Monitor team processes and productivity.
Other duties as assigned
BA or BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Digital Marketing preferred, or equivalent related education and demonstrated experience
4+ years project management experience, preferably at a digital agency
Demonstrated project management and operational skills.
PMP certified preferred.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or experience in directing agile teams.
Knowledge of agile development life cycle and various frameworks (i.e, Kanban, Scrum, etc.).
Knowledge of the fundamentals of content strategy, UX, and product management.
Minimum 2 years of experience working with content management systems, preferably Drupal.
Ability to prioritize digital tasks and projects from across organization according to maximum business need or impact on the organization as a whole
Proven ability to transform business needs into project requirements
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to speak knowledgeably with stakeholders, team members, and leadership.
Proven ability to partner with multiple teams across the organization to complete complex digital projects
Self-motivated, a proven collaborator, passionate about organizing people and teams
Strong understanding of issue and project tracking software (JIRA, SmartSheet, etc.)
Exhibit emotional intelligence and possess strong conflict management skills.
Foundational knowledge of digital marketing campaign process a plus
Knowledge of digital creative process a plus
Metric and data driven decision making
