What you’ll be doing...
The Digital Marketing Center of Excellence is hiring aContent Writer/Strategist who will be responsible for leading Verizon’s sales content production and strategy. You will write, edit and publish relevant and engaging content that drives traffic and sales to the Verizon Wireless website. You will also be tasked with content strategy, helping us identify what content needs to be developed, planning how that content should be created, and managing the brand voice. This job requires a large amount of work with the cross-functional teams including SEO, product owners (devices and accessories), OEMS and more to drive the sales content vision for Verizon.
Editing all product and accessory copy to adhere to brand and OEM guidelines.
Strategically reviewing and updating previously written content using SEO and writing best practices.
Creating and developing digitally optimized and editorially relevant content.
Collaborating with the Sales Content Manager to develop a content plan that improves overall traffic and sales through relevant and engaging content including product copy, videos and articles.
Performing SEO tasks such as keyword and content topic research.
Proactively identifying new areas of opportunity based on organic search traffic and market trends.
Leading the content production process including researching specific SKUs online and utilizing marketing sell sheets, internal resources and outside researching, when applicable.
Leading weekly and as-needed conference calls or in-person meetings to provide status, transparent communications and resolutions on delays or issues.
Writing with the target audience in mind and within VZ Brand Voice.
Knowing the company and brand inside and out, leveraging in-house experts to gain a full understanding of the space.
Working with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to deliver content that is highly relevant and compelling.
Reporting on and knowing how to understand/interpret key content and organic metrics including organic traffic, BR, TOP, PPS etc.
What we’re looking for...
You are equal parts creative and strategic; able to toggle between writing, editing and strategy on a daily basis depending on need and priorities.
You'll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience in digital marketing, or equivalent.
E-Commerce content writing experience.
Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics experience.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
SEO video scriptwriting and production experience.
Experience in writing keyword rich, compelling, and unique site content including product descriptions, product features and blog style articles.
Experience managing or working with other writers to make sure all copy is on-point and brand focused.
Strong knowledge of SEO best practices and how it connects with content creation and strategy.
Understanding of Verizon Wireless products/services and trending mobile technology products.
Experience working with web based content execution and maintenance.
Experience writing long-form blog style articles and posts in a unique, customer-focused voice.
Ability to communicate effectively with individuals within all departments of a company.
