Under the supervision of the Director of Development and working closely with both the Director of Development and the Director of Admissions & Enrollment Services, the Marketing & Communications Manager will originate, develop and implement annual plans to support enrollment and retention, fundraising, alumni activities and special event efforts. The Marketing & Communications Manager will work to strengthen Villa’s visibility and image as well as to communicate Villa’s successes and advantages while consistently articulating the school’s mission and vision.
The role is responsible for the development and production of both traditional promotional materials and online marketing content and communications processes; the ability to maintain a lively and relevant social media and website presence is essential, as is the ability to collaborate with colleagues in the development of marketing plans, projects and initiatives.
Regularly update Villa’s website with relevant content and needed changes and maintain website “backend” functionality;
Manage Villa’s Facebook and Instagram accounts, posting relevant content on a regular schedule.
Produce Villa’s weekly e-newsletter (The Weekly), i.e., gather/write content for articles, edit/proof submissions, include graphics/photos and calendar updates.
Produce online ads, signs, banners & forms, publications, presentations, brochures, email campaigns, flyers/posters and infographics; work with graphic designers on high-level content as needed; manage vendors regarding pricing, job coordination, scheduling and invoicing.
Maintain marketing assets such as stock images, photo and video archives and files.
Develop and maintain a yearly editorial calendar.
Perform daily updates of outdoor and indoor electronic messaging systems.
Stay apprised of school curricular and extra curricular activities for feature articles and posts.
When possible, photograph various school activities and events; edit photos for e-newsletter, social media, website posts and for use in marketing materials.
Attend scheduled meetings and perform school student-related duties as assigned.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Development
An Associate's Degree and/or specialist’s certification (BA Degree, preferred) in a related field;
Two-years of professional experience in a similar position, including digital production experience.
Strong initiative and organization: ability to prioritize tasks, manage projects from start to completion and anticipate next steps;
Experience/comfort with aspects of website content management systems. Working knowledge of SEO and HTML/CSS is helpful.
Social media and content creation in a workplace setting.
Proficiency with digital programs/platforms such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign or LucidPress, Canva/Crello, Google Drive, MS Office, MailChimp and iMovie.
Strong analytical and communication skills along with a collegial and collaborative spirit are essential;
Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills;
Photography and photo/video editing skills are highly desired;
Experience working with volunteers in a nonprofit or educational setting is helpful;
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
