We are seeking a Senior Manager, eCommerce Strategy & Product Management to join our team in Richmond, VA.
The Senior Manager, eCommerce Strategy & Product Management, will partner with senior executives to lead the end-to-end development and implementation of growth strategies and product roadmap for our Consumer business.
This highly visible role is critical to driving revenue and profit growth, as well as digital transformation, to scale this "start-up" business 5x to a ~$1 billion leader in health eCommerce over the next several years.
The Senior Manager is responsible for designing solutions and go-to-market approaches for our most pressing business opportunities. Solutions will be delivered by conducting market, customer and business research and analysis; gaining stakeholder buy-in; and partnering with cross-functional teams including sales, technology, supply chain, data & analytics and digital marketing to drive solutions from concept to implementation into the day-to-day business operations.
Strategy Development and Analysis
Shape and pressure test our strategy and product roadmap by establishing thorough understanding of the market landscape and McKesson's business
Design thoughtful, implementable solutions to ill-defined problems and drive them to achieve tangible business outcomes
Support senior leadership in decision-making by developing options, analyzing trade-offs, and making recommendations between alternatives using relevant frameworks
Quantify costs and benefits of offerings and operational improvements
Review potential partnership and acquisition opportunities to determine how they fit on our roadmap; assist with target due diligence as needed
Be a champion and thought leader of the eCommerce strategy by communicating it to internal and external partners
Support senior leadership in conveying progress against our strategy
Develop and Implement Offerings and Operational Improvements (the "Products")
Deeply understand customer and market needs through coordination with sales, marketing, and operations, as well as primary market research, to design products for highest impact
Define and validate market opportunity, potential solutions - and make recommendations on preferred path and priority - through close collaboration with cross-functional partners
Develop detailed plans for offerings including value proposition, features and services, pricing methodology, tiering / bundling, go-to-market approach, marketing documents, and internal approval processes
Develop comprehensive business cases and gain buy-in from senior executives to pursue offerings and operational improvements
When needed for product development, establish project charters and governance structures to align resourcing needed for successful product development and launch
Serve as the central point of contact and clearly convey progress, risks, issues and solicit decisions from senior leaders and executive steering committee members
Ensure the success of new products and solutions from development through to implementation
Manage Stakeholders and Ensure Alignment
Build strong relationships and understanding of functions across McKesson to tactfully lead and influence cross-functional teams in the advancement of solutions
Create and refine tools to improve eCommerce Strategy & Product Management function
Prepare and deliver executive-ready presentations that clearly communicate the work described above
7+ years relevant experience
7+ years experience in strategy and/or product management with a strategic/new product mindset
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook)
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Prior experience in management consulting
Experience in eCommerce, online retail / marketplaces, digital transformation, supply chain or a related services environment
Experience and track record working successfully in a large, matrixed corporate environment as well as fast-paced, start-up like environment
Experience within large PMO, technology system integration, or customer delivery team
Demonstrated ability to develop and launch successful products to market by leading large, multi-disciplinary teams
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful process improvements in a business, including through people-oriented change management
Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous direction from senior executives and turn it into a portfolio of discrete, actionable workstreams
Knowledge or experience with Six Sigma, Scaled Agile Framework(r) (SAFe(r)), and/or PRINCE2
Highly organized, logical thinker including high comfort level working with data and financial statements
Strong communication (listening, oral and written) and meeting / workshop facilitation skill set
Proven track record of tactfully reporting out to senior executive leaders on complex work via detailed documents and presentations
Possess client interfacing/professional services skills and communication style that enables direct, independent engagement with senior executives, customers and partners
Demonstrated capacity to become "expert" in new topics and disciplines quickly, high degree of intellectual curiosity and a naturally critical thinker
Tireless attention to detail; energized by the pursuit of excellence on every deliverable
Comfortable consistently serving as a positive role model in a results-oriented, people-focused culture
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Up to 15%
Education 4-year degree in related field or equivalent experience
MBA or relevant graduate degree highly preferred but not required
