Under the supervision of the Director of Digital Marketing and Strategy, the Social Media Strategy Supervisor develops and leads the vision, strategy, and business critical objectives, for UCSF Health and UCSF Benioff Children's social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and Pinterest.
The Social Media Strategy Supervisor oversees a team of staff and freelance social media producers and strategists to create compelling and timely content to fuel UCSF Health and UCSF Benioff Children's social channels. This position will also be tasked with finding new freelance and full-time talent to continue to match the growing demand for social media support. The Social Media Strategy Supervisor will manage one Social Media Editor dedicated to supporting a U.S. News and World Report physician-facing initiative to move the dial on brand reputation. This position will also supervise other freelancers including writers, developers and photographers as needed to achieve larger social media strategy.
The Social Media Strategy Supervisor will set performance expectations of staff, oversee day-to-day operations including budget oversight for promotional efforts. Administers policies that directly affect subordinate staff. Recommend changes to department policies and practices. Identifies risks and responds accordingly. Provide priority setting and work flow analysis to full-time staff.
The Social Media Strategy Supervisor will oversee and help run the day-to-day channel management including flagging any issues that may need escalation. The person will work across the enterprise when needed to address and manage crisis communications.
This position will manage a social media calendar and keep a close eye on key performance indicators and agreed-upon measurements of success and pivot accordingly based on data.
The Social Media Strategy Supervisor is a natural connector and communicator and will partner well with others across the enterprise including Patient Relations and Government and Public Affairs on enterprise-wide initiatives This position also collaborates with staff and freelance editors and designers to maximize reach of social content through other channels like main consumer health-facing websites.
