25+. The number of approved medicines in oncology and blood disorders The Director of Social Media is responsible for leading excellence for Novartis Oncology external social media channels. The individual will help to deliver social media impact - aligned to oncology business priorities. This includes providing direction to internal and external partners during annual planning, medical meetings and for ad hoc activations. Will be responsible for analyzing audience insights, campaign measurement plus social and paid media plans (media partnerships) across the business. The individual will be an inspiring leader, using his/her expertise to present the latest best practices, trends and channel evolution for both paid and owned efforts. Working closely and collaboratively with our digital marketing partners - a bridge for communications, helping to translate and find opportunities for partnership and impact. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Partner and Planner * Enable and support social media thought leadership for disease area priorities in the US and Global, including portfolio communications audience strategy, influencer relations and third-party partnerships * Lead social media strategy for communications, surrounding key oncology medical meetings (ASCO, EHA, ESMO, ASH, SABCS) * Help facilitate planning through existing channels to improve portfolio communications impact through us and global digital marketing * Provide direction on programming to priority countries as needed Collaboration * Work cross-functionally in a large, matrixed organization (commercial, medical, digital marketing, legal, regulatory, etc.) * Key liaison for the Corporate Newsroom with a focus on ensuring most impactful collaboration and maximizing opportunities in our new integrated model * Coordinate with Newsroom and/or External Engagement on issues management as needed * Work with media agency and manage a monthly budget Establish Systematic Approach * Utilize social management tools, including Facebook Business Manager, Social Studio and Sprinklr * Establish consistency/excellence surrounding channel creation within the business * Support development of global toolkits for distribution * Thought Leadership * Utilize social media expertise and understanding of the business functions of major platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube, etc.), in both a paid and organic capacity * Share social media knowledge; comfortable leading large virtual sessions and speaking in front of others * Share best practices and coordinate across Innovative Medicines; bring outside in (US/Global Pharma Social Media) Governance * Serve as the communications and social media liaison for digital governance boards in the US and Global * Develop knowledge of Novartis social infrastructure, digital governance processes and systems (GSMR/1P1R) * Serve as the point of contact for social media submission process, standards, etc.
