Digital Strategy & Web Services group at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) seeks an innovative Multimedia Digital Designer to provide creative design assets that support the digital presence for the Columbia University Irving Medical Center brand, the ColumbiaDoctors clinical enterprise, as well as our robust research and educational functions.
The ideal candidate will provide consistent and compelling digital design assets for websites, apps, social media and paid digital marketing campaigns. They will think outside of the box to develop new and exciting concepts that take our organization to the next level.
Reporting to the Director of Digital Strategy & Marketing, the Multimedia Producer will work collaboratively with the Digital Strategy & Web Services team within the central Office of Communications at the CUIMC, as well as various stakeholder across the institution.
*** To be considered for this position, a robust digital portfolio is required and should contain display ads (HTML 5), animated GIFs, video, websites and social media graphics. ***
Collaborate with the Digital Strategy & Web Services team to execute all stages of the visual media and graphics design process, from brainstorming to final implementation.
Utilize conceptual abilities for creative planning, such as idea sketching and storyboarding
Join stakeholder meetings when required to fully understand their needs and develop visual concepts
Produce a variety of creative multimedia assets ??? including but not limited to ??? GIFs, static graphics, icons, original illustrations, video, and motion graphics/animations.
Utilize software such as Adobe After Effects and Premier to edit and enhance short- and long-form video content for online platforms (i.e., Instagram Reels, YouTube, TikTok)
Iteratively revise and optimize concepts and media based on team feedback, stakeholder review, and data insights
Keep abreast of digital/social media visual trends and parameters
Maintain an organized archive of multimedia and design assets
Manage and prioritize projects and meet required deadlines
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Ensure compliance with copyright, ADA accessibility, HIPAA, PHI, and PII
Requires a bachelor's degree in graphic design, fine art, computer graphics, or similar, or equivalent in education and experience
Minimum of two years of related experience in a creative role with significant digital production responsibilities
Experience in multimedia/graphic production designed specifically for websites, apps, and paid and organic digital marketing, such as social media, display network, and contracted banner advertising campaigns, web aesthetic, and other mediums as needed
Expert in the use of design platforms including, but not limited to, the Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Animate, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premier, InDesign, Lightroom, etc.) for the development of static graphics, GIFs, original illustration, motion animations for video and web, etc.
Talented in the creation of engaging short- and long-form video content for digital platforms
Proficiency in HTML5 graphics and animation
Ability to design or illustrate original visuals
Broad understanding of online/social media sites such as: Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, SnapChat, TikTok, etc.
