CONTENT DIRECTOR, STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING , Alumni Association (MITAA)-Strategic Communications and Marketing (SCM) , to articulate and lead overall content strategy across the MITAA's various content platforms and vehicles in support of the strategic direction set by its leadership and in support of its vision to engage and inspire the MIT global community to make a better world. Will create and implement a digital-first content direction that is rich in storytelling--human, MIT-quirky, informative, and inspiring--and is utilized not only across the MITAA's various platforms (Slice of MIT website, e-newsletters, social media, and sections of Technology Review's MIT News), but also across the broader MIT communications landscape.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree, preferably in English, journalism, communications, or related field; at least five years' communications and marketing experience, preferably in content strategy and marketing, publications management, and/or inbound marketing; one year of staff management experience; excellent storytelling, editing, writing, listening, and verbal and written communication skills; experience with social media and digital content platforms; experience setting and implementing strategy and establishing and meeting goals/priorities; record of accomplishment in a position requiring independent planning, creative problem solving, project management, and efficient utilization of time and resources; initiative; attention to detail; and support for MIT's advancement and diversity, equity, and inclusion priorities. Must be able to use data to continuously improve efforts, handle diverse tasks concurrently while meeting deadlines, lead and work as part of a collaborative and service-oriented team, engage effectively with a variety of constituents, and influence others to move toward a common vision/goal. PREFERRED : master's degree; proficiency with Photoshop and other Adobe products, HTML, CSS, and CMS platforms; and experience in a nonprofit setting. Job #20017-10
