ROLE of the POSITION
UNLV Career Services is seeking a talented Career, Events and Marketing Specialist to manage and elevate Career Services recruiting, career fair events, social media and outreach communications. Events, programs and services engage and connect students, alumnx and employers resulting in successful career development and employment outcomes.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Employer Engagement, the Career, Events and Marketing Specialist coordinates signature employer events for diverse UNLV students/alumnx in collaboration/coordination with key campus stakeholders. The Specialist creates, coordinates and implements marketing, social media, communication, and outreach strategies for a variety of career services audiences. These efforts will attract and serve key employing organizations as well as boost student and alumni participation.
The Career, Events and Marketing Specialist coordinates recruiting services and activities such as campus interviewing, company information/networking sessions, and related activities as well as driving employer utilization of job and internship postings via the Handshake career management system and mentoring engagement through Rebels Forward Mentoring platform. The successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of diversity and inclusion and integrate practices throughout the work of Career Services and employer engagement. The successful candidate will have the ability to organize large scale events, provide a high standard of customer service, manage multiple systems and tasks, create and implement effective communication and social media strategies to target audiences, effectively build external and internal relationships and follow through on multiple tasks and assignments to facilitate the most positive student and employer experience. This position requires a Bachelor's degreefrom a regionally accredited college or university and1-3 years experience in events management, marketing/communications and customer service. 3-5 years of experience with employer relations/engagement.

As a member of the campus career services collaborative and division of the Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement team, the Career, Events and Marketing Specialist will work creatively and effectively as part of a division and campus-wide collaborative model, engage with Career Services and division staff internally and campus partners (faculty, staff, students) and support employer engagement opportunities and alumni related events. The Specialist will promote programs and resources that support the students/alumni and campus community members.
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Employer Engagement and division Communications Director the Specialist will be responsible for employer events management, responsible for all event planning aspects of main career services events. Plan, coordinate, and collaborate with staff to implement signature campus career events connecting students/alumnx with hiring employers. The Specialist will work with the alumni engagement events team to plan and orchestrate employer and student experience, branding, facility logistics and budget expenditures. Also, organize career fair employer outreach, marketing and registration, manage all marketing and events promotion and communication to employers, students and alumnx. The Specialist will assist with employer sponsorship promotion and stewardship of employer partners to accommodate deliverables.
Under the direction of the Assistant Director Employer Engagement (AD) and division Communications Director, the Specialist will develop, coordinate, and implement a comprehensive marketing and outreach plan for Career Services. Develop UNLV community and stakeholder awareness of the Career Services brand, programs and services: career fairs, employer networking events, and talent acquisition support. Develop a communication strategy that is culturally sensitive, inclusive and responsive to diverse stakeholders (MSI, HSI, AANAPISI). Implement a comprehensive social media strategy that effectively maximizes reach to target UNLV populations. Develop content and graphic design of digital and print collateral using consistent branding awareness strategies. The Specialist will write content for web, newsletters, social media and other key channels of communication to stakeholders.
The Career, Events and Marketing Specialist will assist employers engaging in virtual and in person services with top shelf customer service, approve and manage employer Handshake accounts, recruiter contacts and jobs in UNLV Handshake career management system. The Specialist will coordinate delivery of essential employer services; employer networking events, information sessions and on campus interviews (scheduling and visit coordination). The Specialist will assist AD of Employer Engagement with administration of the central Career Services mentoring platform – Rebels Forward, also assist AD with routine outreach to employers for services, hiring outcome information and recruiting engagement opportunities,
$45,000 - $50,000 Position is contingent upon funding.
