ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II , Program in Women's and Gender Studies (WGS) , to perform complex, diverse administrative duties. Will support and assist the WGS program administrator and director in executing the daily administration of the program and in realizing the overarching mission of the program within the Institute. Daily administration includes purchasing office supplies and catering, event planning and execution, WGS faculty and committee support, project-based work, financial administration, light reception duties, program promotion and outreach, working on the WGS newsletter and graphic design projects, website and social media maintenance.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years' experience of office or related experience; advanced-level knowledge of standards and processes in academic administration; initiative; excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, customer service, editing, and proofreading skills; attention to detail; graphic design experience; ability to perform a wide range of complex and diverse duties despite frequent interruptions in an open office environment; discretion and judgment in sensitive situations and with confidential information; ability to work with a variety of constituents, i.e., faculty, students, other staff, visitors, and vendors; advanced-level proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and InDesign) for creating and editing graphics, digital marketing platforms, and website management; familiarity with social media applications (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram); knowledge of website platforms, preferably Squarespace; and general technical skills with AV, laptops, projectors, Bluetooth, and wireless add-ons. Seek someone who enjoys working with students and is comfortable working independently and as part of a team. PREFERRED : MIT experience; bachelor's degree; photo and video editing skills; and familiarity with MIT online financial applications including Concur, B2P, RFP, and Atlas. Job #20029-5
