The Marketing Specialist will design, plan and execute marketing activities in support of the Professional Education offerings from Duke Engineering’s new Institute for Enterprise Engineering, which includes online and on-campus short courses, Coursera courses, and online Certificate and Masters programs targeted at working professionals. She/he will have primary responsibility for the development and execution of marketing/advertising activities to grow participation in these programs and will collaborate closely with the Director of Professional Education, the School of Engineering Master’s Programs Admissions & Recruitment team, and other faculty members / program directors leading individual offerings. Responsibility will include both lead generation activities as well as development and management of a scalable yet high-touch lead nurturing pipeline to engage prospective learners in our programs. Success will be measured by enrollment growth in the Professional Education offerings.
The successful candidate for this role will have experience in design and execution of marketing activities including social media, advertising, and other electronic channels as well as experience in establishing and executing lead nurturing pipelines, preferably within the higher education field. She/he must be highly collaborative in nature, comfortable working with stakeholders across a complex organization, and thrive in an environment where she/he is part of a team building new educational offerings from the group up. This role may be either part-time or full-time.
Work with program leads to define marketing budgets and target audiences for Duke Engineering Professional Education programs (Coursera offerings, short courses, online Certificates and Masters programs.) 15%
Design, execute, monitor and optimize social media and search advertising campaigns to drive enrollment in Duke Engineering professional education offerings. 25%
Collaborate with program directors and Admissions & Recruiting team to design, implement and execute a lead nurturing pipeline for learners who engage with Duke Engineering via one of our professional education offerings (including online masters programs.) 25%
Implement and monitor metrics to track both marketing campaign and lead pipeline performance and make continuous improvement adjustments to optimize over time. 25%
Provide input based on marketing activity data to shape future professional education offerings. 5%
Help optimize the web presence and messaging for professional education offerings based on A/B testing and market feedback. 5%
3+ years of social media and/or search advertising experience for a B2C organization
Skilled at collaborating with stakeholders across a complex organization to define and execute marketing campaigns
Bachelors degree in business, marketing or engineering
Experience and proven track record of marketing of higher ed programs/events preferred

Work requires communications and marketing skills normally acquired through a bachelor's degree in a related field.
