The Graphic Designer will work as a member of the Marketing/Communications team to conceptualize, design, and produce various print, digital, and other media for internal/external audiences and for developing and managing USJ's brand across all channels including website, print, and photos/videos. The graphic designer is expected to participate in the creative strategy, implementation, design, and production of materials that reflect and advance the mission and image of the University of Saint Joseph, as well as uphold its design standards. The Coordinator will also be responsible for website design and graphic design for significant university events. This is a part-time position (25-30 hours per week)
Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to)
Work with marketing colleagues to ensure standardized development and production of assets for all branded communications including marketing materials, events, paid and earned media, owned channels - website, and other brand actions are consistent with brand guidelines
Conceptualize, plan, design, and produce a variety of print and digital materials in an efficient manner
Prepare files for web and print
Design digital materials for the web site, digital marketing campaigns, social media, emails, ads, newsletters, and more
Design a variety of print materials including flyers, recruitment and academic brochures, event programs, invitations, sections of Outlook magazine, and more
Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with multiple internal clients to determine project parameters, present ideas, and coordinate a project from inception to completion while adhering to University branding standards and deadlines
Develop, maintain, and adhere to production schedules
Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field
3-5 years related experience
Thorough knowledge of visual design principles; graphic design, layout, typography, color, icon development, font management, corporate identity and branding
Project management experience strongly preferred
Possess familiarity with specific applications used by the University/Department a plus. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite programs (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver, and Acrobat) and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook for Mail); additional experience in web and multimedia programs a plus. Proficiency in Mac (preferred) and PC environments
