The Program Manager will work with today's emerging artists to better prepare them for the jobs of tomorrow. The Program Manager's primary responsibility will be to develop experiential learning programs that provide creatives with tangible experience to leverage as they enter the job market. Another key responsibility will be to offer career coaching to emerging artists, helping provide exposure to creative job opportunities and guidance on structuring project-based sustainable careers. Helping foster interdisciplinary collaboration among artists and their peers will be a key strategic objective of the role. Building artists' foundational self-marketing and entrepreneurial skills will be an important aspect of achieving that objective. Working at both Manhattan and Brooklyn campuses, this position will embody a partnership between the Wasserman Center for Career Services and the NYU Production Lab to amplify career resources for NYU's artists and position NYU as a leader in career development for those in creative fields.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Master's Degree of Arts in Arts Administration Master's Degree in Business Administration
Required Experience: 5+ years of experience in academic administration, media/entertainment industry or a related area, or an equivalent combination. Experience working and communicating with a variety of stakeholders is essential.
Preferred Experience: Digital marketing, web content development, film/TV distribution experience, publicity experience, and/or corporate partnership development
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Familiarity with best-practices in current film distribution; Project management (ideally at the intersection of commerce and the arts); knowledge of emerging media platforms; excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact with distinguished visitors, faculty, and students. Proven ability to create and implement a variety of activities, to communicate policies and procedures to individuals at all levels. Strong presentation skills and creative command of software including Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Strong copy-editing skills; exposure to virtual reality and/or augmented reality development and production.
