The Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for working closely with service line leaders to assist in achieving service line volumes and revenue targets.
Reporting to the VP, Chief Strategy and Growth Officer, the Director of Marketing and Communications ensures the effective promotion of Jupiter Medical Center by developing and executing a comprehensive marketing and public relations strategy, inclusive of detailed tactics for each service line.
Works with administration and service line leaders to develop marketing and PR plans that support the Medical Center’s many business objectives, including the successful launch of new services.
Leads marketing team and vendors in execution of a wide array of initiatives (advertising, public relations, customer service, community relations, physician relations, internal and external communications) while ensuring compliance with brand identity and guidelines.
Communicates regularly with the VP, Chief Strategy and Growth Officer to align objectives and ensure that the Hospital is meeting consumers’ current and future needs
Manages marketing team members and oversees project assignment, workload and productivity.
Manages budgeting for marketing of all service lines. Responsible for processing invoices, maintaining records and working with accounting to ensure timely payment. Produces quarterly reports for VP, Chief Strategy and Growth Officer and Senior Leaders
Responsible for tracking ROI of marketing initiatives for campus and service lines and reports on progress as well as strategic adjustments on a quarterly basis.
Oversees website platform, develops and updates content for medical center services and physicians.
Works closely with Decision Support team to develop market analysis and assess market opportunities. Constantly evaluates the competitor landscape and shares with administration on quarterly basis.
Directs the creation and distribution of all sales & marketing materials. Provides training when appropriate regarding how to use various marketing tools and deliver appropriate messaging.
Achieve on or above budget performance in all areas of marketing.
Manages the Medical Center’s relationships with partners and business associates.

Bachelor’s degree required.
Master’s degree preferred
Minimum of 10 years’ management level experience, with at least 5 in health care marketing and business development, including experience managing a staff.
Excellent writing and proofreading skills for public relations, marketing collateral, print advertising, social media, web content.
Strong corporate communication skills. Must possess the ability to clearly communicate complex information and ideas in writing and through presentations.
Possesses expert knowledge of hospital marketing with the understanding of traditional and digital media strategies and placement, reach, tracking, budgeting, etc.
Experience with digital media for health care as part of a multi-channel marketing program.
Must be a strategic thinker and have the ability to interact with services line leaders, administrative team, physicians, legal counsel, etc.
Experience working with business development/sales teams to develop direct-to-referral-source marketing materials and communications.
Adept at identifying and evaluating potential strategic affiliations, partnerships and community sponsorships, and then developing strong, mutually beneficial relationships.
Able to accept constructive criticism, feedback and marketing ideas from physicians, service line leaders and administration.
Ability to make tough decisions, provide careful budget management, and develop creative ideas for marketing tactics.
Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with many priorities, and tight deadlines.
Must be willing not only to delegate assignments but be a working director and contribute to marketing initiatives with a hands-on approach.
Good understanding of market dynamics, competition in health care, how to measure return on investment, market share and growth.
Organizational and leadership skills required to supervise staff with the ability to effectively monitor and develop the abilities of direct reports.
Ability to interpret, adapt to, and react calmly under stressful conditions.
Ability to learn appropriate software applications.
