The Assistant Brand Marketing Manager - Champion, will report to the Sr. Brand Marketing Manager - Champion, and will be based in our company headquarters in Winston-Salem, N.C. This role is a critical component of the brand team supporting designated brand marketing efforts. They will be responsible for helping guide brand strategy and brand guardrails, executing marketing plans (both media buys and brand programs), and working closely cross-functionally (with product management teams, customer sales teams, DTC teams) and with outside agencies to drive success for the Global Champion brand, which does $1.8 billion in sales annually.
Responsibilities include leading some marketing campaigns and supporting the Sr. Brand Marketing Manager for other campaigns. The role will also support the brand team leadership in the development and deployment of marketing plans, budget management, media strategy, content creation, and brand initiatives to drive profitable growth and long-term brand equity.
Participates in the development of annual and long-range marketing strategies and integrated communication plans to achieve brand sales, growth and equity objectives
Budget management (planning, tracking, and coordination across the DTC and Retail Media areas)
Support Champion’s Go to Market execution by helping to track key cross functional milestones to ensure marketing stories are developed in parallel to product development prior to sell-in.
Assist the Sr. Brand Marketing Manager in coordinating marketing communications plans with Direct-to-Consumer and Retailer Media teams to maximize sales and ROI for Champion.com and retailer sites
Partners closely with creative services to ensure marketing consistency across consumer touchpoints, ensuring that product, packaging and consumer communications are aligned with the overall brand positioning
Responsible for identifying key looks, creating shot lists, and securing samples for seasonal and campaign photoshoots, product seeding, and influencers.
Pull images from HBI image library and coordinate recolors as needed to for creative asset development and retailer image requests
Write compelling and effective creative briefs for campaigns that they lead, and assist the Sr. Brand Marketing manager on larger campaign creative briefs.
Collaborates with the business unit product managers and HBI Consumer Insights team on collection of consumer trends, competitive insights, industry updates and sales reports to fully understand our target consumers
Proactively keeps abreast of industry trends and new technology, sharing knowledge with colleagues
Assist in performance marketing and assessing and helping optimize digital media
Bachelor’s degree required. MBA a plus but not required.
A minimum of 5 - 7 years of relevant work experience required. Experience on the agency side or CPG brand management highly desirable. Apparel or athletic product background also a plus.
Keen attention to detail; strong multi-tasking capabilities.
Analyzes data from internal and syndicated sources to monitor marketplace trends and to support strategies to drive the brand.
Effectively organizes and executes communication with various cross-functional teams within HBI. Cross-functional team interaction will be a critical component of the position
Takes the initiative on assigned projects and ensures successful completion of key milestones to achieve desired business results.
Utilizes various data sources as well as overall marketplace insights to develop programs/initiatives to drive the brand and achieve financial metrics.
Computer skills, including an advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
