Stevens Cooperative School is seeking a Content and Marketing Strategist. The strategist will report to the Director of Marketing and Communications and support the initiatives of each of the school’s segments, including Head of School, Academic Team, Admissions Office, Development Office, Auxiliary Programs, and Athletics Programs.
Our ideal candidate is a creative marketing professional with a strong writing background and excellent collaboration skills. Candidates should be able to develop engaging content to help attract and retain families and expand the school’s digital footprint and brand awareness.
As the keeper of the school’s message, the goals of the Marketing and Communications Department are to:
Communicate and demonstrate Stevens Cooperative School’s mission, vision, values, and outcomes to all constituents
Share information about the school’s programs and offerings, telling the story of Stevens in a way that engages prospective families and inspires donors to give to the school’s fundraising initiatives
Maintain and enhance the school’s reputation as a competitive independent school in Hoboken and Jersey City
Support Academic, Admissions, Advancement, and Auxiliary/Summer Camp teams with strategy, drafting, and editing of communications regarding upcoming events and updates
Collaborate with Director and Branding/Communications Agency on theme selection, design, and layout of biannual Scoop Magazine
Craft and write content for Scoop Magazine, monthly Mini Scoop eNewsletter, and school website
Ensure that all communications adhere to brand and communications standards and are written in a consistent Stevens voice
Develop a content calendar for the school website and social media accounts, share content through various channels to ensure a strong web presence
Draft and proof email communications to school families, using Blackbaud Student Management System
Draft the weekly Events & Reminders eNewsletter to families
Partner with Digital Marketing Agency to optimize online content for SEO and Google Analytics
Undertake social media efforts, including drafting of content and posting to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn
Support with edits to the school website using Finalsite CMS
Support with annual yearbook theme identification, design, and production
Serve as site captain for school Picture Day
Photograph classroom instruction and school events for social media, printed collateral, and digital campaigns
Other responsibilities as needed
Provide coverage support for school buildings as needed
Superb, clear, and effective written and oral communication skills
Excellent grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills
Experience/consistent performance in a deadline-oriented environment due to tight time restraints and volume of work
Ability to manage multiple projects and juggle priorities
Demonstrated ability to work productively with counterparts in a cross-functional capacity
Must be able to respond quickly in an environment of changing priorities
Minimum 3 years experience in communications, journalism, marketing, or public relations
Skilled in writing and publication design
Experience running social media presence
Graphic design experience preferred
