The Center on Technology Policy (CTP) Marketing Lead primary purpose of this position is to develop and implement a comprehensive marketing program for CTP. This program will address both external and internal communication; and will include marketing communications using electronic (Web-based), print and in-person tools. The Marketing Lead reports to the Director of the Center on Technology Policy and works closely with SILS faculty and staff, as well as other University Communications departments and professionals.
Marketing & Public Relations
Lead marketing projects for the Center on Technology Policy (CTP),
Lead the design and formatting for the Center's policy briefs.
Maintains a recognizable image, brand and professional presentation for the Center
Develops and implements various communications tools and materials (print, electronic and or promotional) to position CTP effectively with all of its local, national, and global external constituents
Develops marketing campaigns for specific CTP programs and events (e.g., web, radio, tv, conference, print advertising
Website, Podcast and Social Media Management
Lead website design and social media presence.
Creates, produces, requests and reviews content for the website
Produces a website which is easy to navigate, current, accurate, and visually inviting
Creates, maintains and promotes CTP social media channels
Monitors and reports on website and social media channel traffic and usage
Podcast production assistant including including editing and publishing.
Assists host, producers and other contributors as necessary
Lead event production, including event scheduling and administration.
Develop marketing materials for events for publicity at UNC and externally.
Publicize events on CTP website and social media channels.
Coordinate event logistics with speakers.
Coordinate event sponsorship with other departments and programs.
Capture photographs, videos, and writes summaries of events for print and internal communications
Internal Communication and Support
Contribute to developing and executing the strategic vision for the Center.
Develops and implements various communications tools and materials to facilitate excellent information sharing, efficient interaction, and retention among School, students, faculty and alumni.
Works with the Director on communication in support of fundraising
Works with the appropriate SILS point of contact to support successful student and faculty engagement
Works with SILS administrators to prepare reports required by the university, government agencies, and professional organizations.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
