SOURCING SPECIALIST, TECHNOLOGY AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES, FIN Sourcing & Procurement

The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for supporting the Assistant Director - Technology and Professional Services - in the execution of a data-driven category plan for the university's Technology and Professional Services-related spend categories (~$170M per annum), which includes Hardware, Software, IT Consulting, SaaS Agreements, Business Consulting, Digital Marketing, Executive Coaching, Meetings and Events, Temporary Labor, Banking Services, Audit Services, Student Lending, Insurance, and others.
The Sourcing Specialist is expected to deliver measurable, quantifiable cost and/or process efficiencies using BU's established Sourcing Methodology, which includes the following stages: 1) Project Confirmation, Analysis, and Planning, 2) Strategy Development, Competitive Event, and Selection, and 3) Implementation and Monitoring.
Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director, the Sourcing Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, manage, and execute on category plan initiatives that optimize the appropriate balance of cost and quality based on defined business requirements, including managing competitive bid events and negotiating business terms. This role is also responsible for building and managing internal business relationships by providing guidance and expertise on sourcing best practices, including supplier selection, industry insights, negotiation strategies and contracting. The role will work closely on communication and change management efforts associated with executed projects, in addition to developing and managing a supplier performance program within the assigned Technology and Professional Services-related spend categories.
Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years experience
