The Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications is a full-time, year-round position that reports directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications at Rye Country Day School. This position is responsible for planning, creating, and managing engaging content and marketing materials that support the School’s vision and goals across platforms. The Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications will join a creative and collaborative team of marketing/communications professionals to manage an engaging content stream including website news, e-mail, social media, photography, and videography.

Specific responsibilities include:
Work directly with key internal and external stakeholders to develop plans to promote Rye Country Day programs, events, and achievements through various media channels
Manage the Office of Marketing & Communications content calendar
Create visual content for social media and other promotional purposes using design software
Serve as the lead in-house photographer and videographer
Cover school life and events, which includes attending on and off-campus events to take photo/video and edit and prepare as needed
Proactively manage and monitor Rye Country Day’s social media channels/activity.
Produce, publish, and maintain content on the RCDS website (www.ryecountryday.org).
Manage the RCDS photo and video archives; curate images/video as needed for campus departments/programs
Coordinate schedule of services and liaise with external photographers and videographers
Attend school events on evenings and weekends, as needed
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing & Communications
Desired qualifications and skills:
Bachelor's degree required
4-6 years of experience in communications and marketing
Extensive knowledge of social media platforms
Strong photography/videography and editing skills
Keen interest in trying new and innovative approaches to sharing content; understanding of digital marketing analytics
Experience with professional design; Canva or Photoshop experience preferred
Experience using a website CMS preferred
Proven ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders from a wide variety of backgrounds; Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience with QA protocols
Ability to multi-task and manage numerous simultaneous projects with an ability to meet deadlines
