The School of Nursing is searching for a Research Program Director to support the Center for Healthcare Delivery Research and Innovation (HDRI), which produces impactful evidence to strengthen health care delivery in the United States and internationally. The Research Program Director will be responsible for overseeing the management, administration, programs, and strategic planning of the center.
The Center for Healthcare Delivery Research and Innovations (HDRI) is a leader in cutting-edge health care systems and health services research. The center???s purpose is to advance the mission of Columbia University School of Nursing and nursing profession by providing a structure to enhance faculty and trainees??? programs of research focused on health services research. The center accelerates faculty and trainees??? research and creates opportunities for collaboration, interaction, and networking to enhance scholarly productivity. Currently, the center trains five PhD students and one postdoctoral fellow. The Research Program Director will directly report to the Executive Director of HDRI, Dr. Lusine Poghosyan.
Responsibilities will include:
Day-to-day administrative and research activities related to HDRI including:
Supervising and working collaboratively with center faculty, staff, trainees, and students;
Assist with the Advisory Board
Working collaboratively with the School of Nursing???s Finance & Accounting department and Grants Management Office to oversee center finances;
Working with the Office of Communications and Digital Marketing to promote center events, projects, publications, and mission;
Communicating with Co-Investigators, Consultants, and Vendors to drive center projects forward;
Monitoring project timelines, ensuring project progress, and assisting the Principal Investigator in monitoring project developments, including implementing changes as needed under the direction of the Principal Investigator;
Coordinating, leading, and documenting center-related meetings;
Escalating issues to the Executive Director in a timely manner;
Working with the Executive Director to ensure compliance with all federal and university requirements;
Providing support with dissemination activities for center members;
Responsible for overseeing flow of scientific publications and creating drafts as necessary;
Manage inquiries for new projects;
Manage meeting details and milestones in collaboration with the executive director;
Participate in strategic planning and in all endeavors involving expansion and research;
Performing other duties as assigned.
A bachelor???s degree or equivalent in education and experience plus five (5) years of related experience or a master???s degree and one year of experience as the equivalent.
The ideal candidate must also have:
Experience with grant funding and program management.
The ability to manage multiple projects, organize and coordinate information independently, and meet deadlines.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
Related experience in a health-related field such as public health, psychology or health policy.
Background in health research is also preferred.
Doctoral degree in a related field is preferred.
