The digital production manager supports the goals of OHSU through OHSUs organizational marketing and communications plan. This role reports to the Associate Director of Content Strategy as part of the Digital Engagement Team, the Brand & Design Team and Marketing & Communications.
The digital production manager is responsible for ensuring the quality of production work for OHSU.edu in support of OHSUs missions. The primary role will be managing digital production and projects for the OHSU.edu website, and overseeing direct reports in this work.
It is also the responsibility of the digital production manager to represent the Digital Engagement team of Marketing & Communications in a positive and proactive manner to a variety of internal OHSU customer groups.
Key tasks for this position include:
Lead web authoring and content publishing for health care and other institutional web pages.
Manage production team on public website content publishing and best practices.
Help members of the production team grow, succeed and stay engaged in their roles.
Responsible for content and HTML projects, CMS template development.
Contribute to design and development of user training curriculum and content governance.
Consult as needed with OHSU leaders and teams across OHSU to help spread website best practices.
Partner with marketing, strategic and institutional teams to understand their business needs and offer solutions.
Develop and provide training for technical owners of OHSU.edu.
Facilitate and ensure team effectiveness and a collaborative environment.
Determine channel and campaign sources of our most valuable and digitally engaged customers (patients, students, researchers, etc.)
This person will also proactively engage with OHSUs community of marketers across the organization to help them audit, execute and monitor performance of their respective OHSU.edu subsites. The digital production manager oversees the production integrity of work produced internally.
This person will need a high degree of personal initiative and ability to make informed decisions (often without guidance from a supervisor or manager), and be patient and willing to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment.
Lead web authoring for Digital Engagement team.
Work with Digital Project Leader to define production processes and priorities.
Educate web management staff in best practices.
Publish and manage content to digital best practices.
Manage the web development of key Digital Engagement projects and strategic initiatives.
Collaborate closely with project leaders to establish project workflow.
Manage web projects to successful outcomes.
Management and leadership
Meet regularly with direct reports to help them succeed in their jobs and improve their performance. Set clear expectations, hold direct reports accountable for results, and supply coaching and correction as needed.
Act as a resource for best practices and website development as needed across the university.
This person will regularly participate in educational and informative activities to stay current with trends in content development, governance and strategy for digital marketing and engagement.
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and five years of directly related technical and project management experience, or, equivalency in education and experience.
Five years of supervisory experience.
Direct expertise creating and optimizing digital content.
Direct experience editing website content with an enterprise content management system.
Proficiency with the internet and all mainstream browsers (Firefox, Chrome).
Experience managing multiple projects and prioritizing customer demands in a fast-paced environment.
Job Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated understanding of data analysis, both in theory and in practical contexts.
Understanding of analytics, SEO concepts, and experience analyzing content to support organization goals.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to coach and develop employees.
Ability to guide and train people across OHSU.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.
Experience with code development and production.
Seven years of supervisory experience, managing, coaching and developing employees.
Experience with Drupal content management system.
