The Digital Content Producer in Brownâ™s Office of University Communications (OUC) develops, writes, and edits copy and content for multi-channel marketing communications campaigns and projects that sustain and build the Universityâ™s global engagement among a range of constituents. The Digital Content Producer is the primary curator and content creator for the Universityâ™s central social media channels, collaborating with teams within OUC and across the University to plan, coordinate and execute original, compelling social media content that captures the vibrancy of University life.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Digital Content Strategy, the Digital Content Producer is part of a team of marketing staff responsible for producing creative video, photography, social media, and digital marketing strategy and content to engage the campus community, current and prospective students and their families, stakeholders across the state and region, and the many audiences around the globe interested in the activities of Brown.
The Digital Content Producer conceptualizes and produces compelling copy and content for social media posts, web pages, apps, video scripts, email marketing campaigns, advertising campaigns, infographics, and more in alignment with the Universityâ™s priorities and marketing communications goals supporting academic and administrative units at Brown. The Digital Content Producer works collaboratively within an integrated University Communications operation of more than 40 marketing and communications professionals to deliver cohesive marketing strategies and high-quality deliverables that integrate content strategy and editorial development, visual identity and multi-platform visual design, multimedia, digital and social media advertising, web and digital communications strategy and front-end development.
The Digital Content Producer aligns content strategy with evolving best practices to produce creative and innovative content tailored to meet the needs of users of Brownâ™s social and digital platforms.
Required: Bachelorâ™s degree.
At least three years of demonstrated professional experience developing creative digital content such as email marketing campaigns, social media, video, digital advertising, etc., in a professional role.
Demonstrated experience managing Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat and other social media platforms for higher education, business, political or other clients.
Familiarity with laws and statutes governing privacy, copyright, fair use and other areas of intellectual property as it pertains to distributing content.
Superb verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated success in using technology and web-based tools to meet communications and project management goals.
Strong visual aesthetic and experience with multimedia storytelling.
Proficiency in using tools for composing mobile stories for digital storytelling, including smartphones, tablets and associated apps.
Experience measuring, analyzing, and reporting social media metrics to meet project goals.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to inspire other communicators.
Ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.
Broad interest in and understanding of higher education.
