What you’ll be doing...
The Manager of Content Strategy will be responsible for driving sales content on verizon.com to the next level by directing sales content strategy and production process. The process includes directing the work of copywriters to write new product description pages and content articles about products. It also includes directing information architects to map out how content interlinks and knits together throughout the site. You will have a very close working relationship with the Merchandising and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) teams, and will be accountable for both sales and SEO KPIs. You will be numbers-driven, which means using keyword analysis, conversion rate, and engagement numbers supplied by the analytics teams to evaluate previous sales content and decide what future sales content should be. In addition, you will have ecommerce experience and be dedicated to a best-in-class customer experience. You will have demonstrated previous successes in ecommerce sales content, content marketing, SEO, and information architecture.
Identifying content opportunities by partnering with analytics staff to uncover insights from all types of sales content data, focusing on KPI effectiveness.
Addressing the needs of all data points, including organic search traffic, organic search page position, keyword rankings, PDP conversion rate, time-on-page, time-on-site, and depth of page penetration.
Periodically performing keyword analysis and content audits to identify gaps.
Reviewing new and existing content to determine what is relevant, consistent, redundant, or missing.
Creating strategies for acting on content opportunities.
Ensuring use of industry-established best practices for content, SEO, and information architecture.
Supervising a team of copywriters and content strategists in producing long-form content and product description pages.
Partnering with information architects and the SEO team to interlink and knit content together throughout the site.
Owning and driving the overall production process for sales content.
Engaging with social media, CRM, SEM, and SEO teams to connect on-site content to traffic-generation sources (content marketing).

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Six or more years of experience in content strategy with a focus on content marketing.
Experience presenting strategies to directors and VPs.
Web production/CMS experience with a focus on ecommerce.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
A master's degree.
Experience with SEO with a firm understanding of its objectives.
Highly developed communication skills.
Experience driving increasing results for product description pages.
Experience working with technical engineers to effectively communicate the technical challenges and fulfill the business needs.
