Marketing & Communications (70%):
Analysis: Collaboratively analyze marketing and communications needs, trends, tools, resources, and optimization for effective integrated communications solutions.
Strategies: Collaboratively develop and execute ISD’s marketing and communications plans and strategies for both internal and external audiences and all delivery methods.
Initiatives: Conceptualize, create, iterate, and execute high-end communications that support ISD’s needs, messaging, mission, and branding for all assets and media platforms (print, digital, email, web, presentations, ads, social media, photo, video, signage, infographics, exhibits, etc.).
Content Development: Pro-actively research, create, iterate, edit, maintain, and update effective and compelling content for all ISD media platforms, assets, and activities.
Project Management: Implement and maintain content editorial calendars, project intake, review, and tracking systems, and ROI analysis and feedback methods for all platforms.
Websites: Coordinate the implementation of developed website content with other team members, and collaborate in website management.
Multimedia: Assist as needed to ensure multimedia coverage of ISD activities.
Social Media & Digital Marketing: (15%)
Initiatives: Create, implement, manage, and evaluate ISD social media and digital marketing and communications initiatives and campaigns.
Content Development: Create and adjust content for targeted social media and other digital use (email marketing, digital newsletters, etc.).
Marketing: Implement and maintain relevant editorial calendars, manage digital ads (paid and un-paid), email groups, etc.
Feedback: Monitor, analyze, and report on ROI statistics, KPIs, user feedback, peer benchmarking, make recommendations for improvement.
Engagement Activities: (10%)
Initiatives: Collaboratively work to assess communication needs for internal and external activities, seminars, conferences, career fairs, informational events, fund development, alumni outreach, etc.
Networking: Maintain an awareness of communication activities, news, and events throughout the college and university, and establish networking relationships within the college and peers.
Partners: Assist supervisor in developing and maintaining relationships with media partners, outlets, and freelancers as applicable.
Work collaboratively with team members, stakeholders, and ISD leadership to ensure alignment, quality, and accuracy for all marketing and communications activities and assets.
Stay abreast of related emerging technologies, standards, trends, and techniques.
Contribute to overall ISD strategic planning and implementation initiatives, and assist as needed with special departmental projects.
Pro-actively recommend the utilization of best practices and effective mechanisms.
Participate in fostering a positive, welcoming, and professional environment that reflects ISD, college, and university values and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Technical skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in communications/marketing.
Demonstrated experience creating, branding, and executing marketing and communications strategies for internal and external audiences across multimedia, digital, and traditional platforms.
Excellent communications skills as demonstrated by a portfolio of work that is original, creative, and innovative.
Excellent skills in developing and writing high quality original content (technical and general) for a wide variety of delivery platforms, and editing the work of others.
Demonstrated experience with social media, email marketing (Constant Contact), digital ads (Google), LinkedIn, etc.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other related applications (i.e. Google suite, Dropbox); working proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and photo/video/audio editing tools.
Experience working with websites, landing pages, intranet sites and utilizing CMS (Word Press), optimization tools (SEO), accessibility standards, Google Analytics.
Professional working knowledge of branding development and standards, style guidelines, digital and print collateral requirements, and related processes.
