Salary and Benefits. TTARA offers paid health insurance and retirement benefits. Salary range is expected to be from $65,000 to $80,000 plus incentive/bonus pay (up to roughly an additional 10%).
Telecommuting is allowed.
The Texas Taxpayers and Research Association (TTARA) is an Austin-based 501(c)(4) non-profit association focusing on responsible state fiscal and tax policy. Our membership consists predominantly of large businesses, law firms, accounting firms and lobby groups interested in tax and fiscal issues before the Texas Legislature and executive agencies. TTARA does not engage in political activity, but does conduct research and lobbies on proposed legislation and public policy.
TTARA is seeking an experienced, dynamic self-starter with excellent organizational and people skills to serve as the Director of Membership and Marketing for the association. The Director of Membership and Marketing will be responsible for creating and implementing strategies to recruit and retain members and will report directly to the association’s president. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with members at all levels, including the association’s board of directors, general membership, as well as the general public. The ability to work collaboratively with TTARA staff in all matters is essential. TTARA anticipates maintaining our current hybrid (in-person/virtual) working environment, with a priority of protecting the safety of our employees while offering a flexible work environment.
Develop and implement membership recruitment plan, and work with the association president in establishing membership goals,
Meet defined goals for membership growth,
Assist in reviewing and defining member benefits,
Work with TTARA leadership and general membership in identifying appropriate membership prospect companies,
Ensure incoming membership inquiries are addressed promptly and professionally
Provide excellent customer service to all TTARA members to ensure their TTARA membership experience is exceptional.
Development of marketing pieces working along with a graphic designer.
Working knowledge in meeting planning, expediting meetings and negotiating contracts.
Develop and execute strategies to build sponsorship revenue.
A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, combined with a minimum of 5 years of work experience, preferably in a membership-based association or customer service environment; experience in coordinating membership recruitment/retention activities is a plus; experience with state tax and fiscal issues and/or the state legislative process is helpful but not a requirement.
Strong computer skills including an extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and database experience (Memberclicks a plus)
Some statewide travel is required.
