Digital Communications Associate plays a critical role in executing the Office of Advancement's digital channel strategy, which incorporates email, web, and social media outreach to Georgetown's alumni, donors, and supporters. This role includes a combination of digital marketing and technical support of OA communications strategies and goals. The Digital Communications Associate shows enthusiasm about learning and applying digital marketing best practices, with a focus on email marketing and operations, to support university outreach. The Digital Communications Associate is an excellent individual contributor and a team player, with a commitment to engaging diverse audiences, and has the ability to work effectively while managing multiple tasks.
Work InteractionsThe Digital Communications Associate is a junior member of the Digital Channel Strategy team, a subgroup of designers, developers, and content creators in Advancement's Communications department. This team is responsible for managing broadcast emails, websites, social media platforms, and mobile apps that work in service of Georgetown University's fundraising and alumni and donor engagement goals. This role supports the content execution for Advancement's digital communications channels and reports to the Associate Director, Email Operations. A major function of this role will be building and scheduling broadcast emails as part of Advancement's email operations, and tackling projects associated with event mobile apps and externally-facing web and social media campaigns for fundraising and engagement. In addition, this role will support staff and alumni users in the Salesforce CRM platform GU360, Marketing Cloud, Encompass (iModules), WordPress sites, and other digital channels/systems governed by the team.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience working with content management systems (e.g., WordPress), email delivery systems (e.g., Marketing Cloud), and/or campaigns on social media channels (Facebook Pages, Twitter, and/or Instagram accounts).
- Ability to learn and use content management systems for specific campaigns, such as dashboards for event mobile apps.
- Working knowledge of and ability to apply digital marketing best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong relationship management skills and proclivity towards collaboration.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A respectful, inclusive approach to building relationships through digital projects, recommending language and assets that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion to engage diverse audiences.
- Ability to coordinate among complex tasks and systems.
- Sound judgment.
- Comfort working in a dynamic environment with multiple partners and audiences.
- No official certifications are required; however, demonstrating interest, experience, and eagerness to learn best practices of modern web design, email, and communications strategies is required.
Work Mode: Hybrid (2 days on campus, 3 days telework). Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University.
