JOB SUMMARY
Marriott Digital Services (MDS) is seeking an experienced Sr. Manager to support growth and compliance initiatives within the evolving MDS organization. He or she will have ownership of the overall vendor strategy, building and maintaining relationships with 30+ vendor partners. This individual will oversee the procurement, negotiation, and contracting processes - serving as a liaison between MDS, internal Marriott teams (legal, contracting, etc.), and the vendor company. The Sr. Manager will proactively evaluate all vendor performance and ensure compliance with Marriott standards. In addition, he or she will serve as the security point person for the team, confirming all MDS systems and agreements are within Marriott security guidelines.
This individual will be responsible for analyzing the financial impact of vendor partnerships, managing invoices and budgets, making staffing recommendations, and identifying and implementing cost saving initiatives for MDS. He or she will utilize Salesforce to track and examine process workflows, financial reports, and reporting dashboards.
The Sr. Manager reports into the Director, MDS Business Support and will work cross-functionally with the rest of the MDS organization, especially the Business Development group. By continually refining vendor relationships, the Sr. Manager will support scalability and efficiency efforts for the organization. MDS is Marriott's comprehensive in-house digital marketing agency that provides digital platforms, products, and services to hotels around the world.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
- BS/BA degree in marketing, communications, finance, hospitality management or related field.
- 7+ years of relevant work experience (digital agency, vendor management, negotiation experience)
- Experience with Salesforce and Slack preferred
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Managing Work, Projects, and Policies
- Manages the 30+ domestic and international vendors that support Marriott Digital Services
- Works to ensure all current and future MDS vendors have the proper NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, and SLAs in place
- Partners with team members to evaluate additional vendor capabilities and outsourcing methodologies
- Continually evaluates new vendors and partners that can scale and grow with MDS's evolving strategy
- Identifies localization options for vendor services to support global needs or around-the-clock support for MDS
- Coordinates security review and approval for all new vendors and systems
- Ensures all existing agreements and partners are compliant with Marriott security standards
- Oversees the financial strategy for vendors and manages towards allotted budgets
- Owns and maintains all vendor reports and dashboards in Salesforce
- Leads a regular Vendor Governance meeting with Sr. Leadership to review vendor strategies, resourcing, budgets, and opportunities
- Serves as the escalation point for vendor relationships and regularly conducts QBRs with top vendors to review performance
Technical Acumen
- Confidence and experience leading million-dollar contract negotiations
- Familiarity with legal terminology and ability to review and edit terms and conditions
- Extensive understanding of Marriott contracting process and security standards
- Experience managing, analyzing, and interpreting data from Salesforce and other reporting platforms
- Execution of financial management processes that support operational business strategies - invoices, accruals, forecasts, etc.
- Management towards a cost-recoverable budget

- Performs other reasonable duties, such as special projects, as assigned by manager and MDS Leadership Team
- Highly motivated with the ability to work easily in both large team environments and independently
