The primary role of the Senior Account Manager will be to develop and implement strategic marketing and communications campaigns aimed at promoting the programs and initiatives of Seton Hall's schools and colleges. Collaborating with campus partners, the individual in this role creates marketing plans that incorporate strategies and tactics aimed at brand building and generating interest from constituent audiences. The Senior Account Manager coordinates website updates, emails, list purchases, blogs, podcasts, digital advertising, social promotion, videos, print, and other forms of traditional marketing that reflect the University's culture and engagement objectives. Working closely with University Relations team members, the Senior Account Manager monitors campaign results and adjusts strategies to yield the most significant impact. Related responsibilities include event promotion, development of social media collateral, coordination of metrics reports, and writing strategic content for Seton Hall’s communications. In addition, this position requires work on special projects to increase the visibility of specific departments or special events at the University.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Create and update annual strategic communications plans identifying goals, strategies, and tactics for our campus partners. Plans should aim to elevate the visibility and reputation of Seton Hall, reflect the unique culture of the University, and access an array of media channels, including digital marketing, social media, print advertising, publications, special events, media relations, public relations, photography, podcasts, and video. Consideration of marketing and analytical trends should be included in communications planning.
2. Schedule, implement and track campaigns for academic programs and special projects that correspond to recruitment and retention cycles, goals, and event deadlines within the context of Seton Hall's strategic plan. Provide campus partners with updates and insights on campaign progress, adjustments, budgeting, and outcomes.
3. Work closely with graphic designers, media relations, and digital team members to produce promotional and marketing materials, including ads, videos, photography, interviews, news articles, and other content. Identify faculty experts, accomplished students, and innovative initiatives from the schools/programs promoted through various digital channels. Working with our CMS and social media platforms, maintain a web presence that is robust and to date.
4. Advise campus partners with decision-making and resource allocation related to marketing budgets, resources, and communications. Lead communications strategies in outcome-driven engagement.
5. Coordinate with University Relations colleagues on identifying, developing, and executing events connected to assigned schools, colleges, and programs.
6. This position will support tracking and analysis of marketing initiatives by assessing competitors’ outreach strategies, monitoring marketing trends, and gaining insights from Google Analytics and available CRM data
Required Qualifications:
BA and at least 3-5 years full-time demonstrated knowledge and skill in public relations and marketing in order to negotiate with vendors, project costs, develop and implement budgets and gain mastery as a public relations generalist conversant in the functional areas of print production management, advertising, event management and editorial support. Project management skills are necessary to set priorities and coordinate the workflow of multiple tasks simultaneously.
