The Associate CIO position reports to the UCSF CIO and leads the enterprise applications organization supporting UCSF's ERP systems, web services, marketing technology, stack, development/software engineering, document imaging and related cloud-based SaaS. This position is responsible for establishing the technologies and operating model of the related application support and development teams and ensuring our enterprise application capabilities, processes and people are aligned with the organization's long-term strategic priorities. This position will ensure the effectiveness and operational stability of existing systems while providing the operating model and technology leadership to develop, deliver, and operate technology solutions to support organizational requirements.
This role is a critical component to the success of UCSF and requires an experienced IT leader with strong leadership, communications, and management expertise along with a strong business knowledge of how applications are being used within the clinical, research and education enterprise.
Develops organizational policies and authorizes their implementation. Provides advice, guidance, and assistance to the senior leadership at the campus, medical center or Office of the President. Responsible for the strategic planning, implementation and overall administration of applications. Represents UCSF in local or systemwide meetings and discussions. Recognized as an influential leader, providing leadership in the effective application of systems and technology at the enterprise level. Makes final decisions for the organization and ensures achievement of objectives. Erroneous decisions will have a serious impact on the overall success of division or the campus, Health or Office of the President. This role is responsible for the support and the transformation of the Enterprise Applications that includes:
Finance Systems which include Budgeting, General Ledger, AR, AP, cost accounting, procurement, etc.)
Other administrative systems of record
Collaboration and communications platforms (e.g. Office 365, employee portal, etc.)
Web Services (hosting, content management, etc.)
Digital Marketing technology stack (e.g. CRM, content management, SEO)
Software engineering / development services
Develop emerging capabilities in automation (e.g. RPA)
