The Park School seeks an Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications to join its team of talented, creative professionals. This is an exciting moment to join the School: The Park School is in the midst of a major fundraising campaign and has launched a visioning project that will clarify and newly articulate the School’s core values and mission.
The Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications will produce leading-edge marketing and communications across all mediums, direct complex and multi-faceted projects, and manage the brand messaging that brings to life the mission and values, and vitality of the school. We are seeking a professional who excels in building consensus and cultivating partnerships with colleagues and peers with leadership and professionalism. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications, the Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications will join a small, creative team and will assist with supervising the team’s day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate brings a creative, collaborative spirit and a healthy sense of humor.
Roles & Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following areas:
Ensure consistency of the Park School’s branding and visual identity across all platforms.
Oversee design and execution of all visual projects, inclusive but not limited to print publications, invitations, electronic and print newsletters, website, merchandise, and signage.
Manage relationships with and oversee projects with external graphic designers and photographers.
Serve as project manager and creative director for two print magazines/year from project inception through print production and mailing. Ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
Develop on-message written content for print and digital media.
Manage and support campus-wide newsletter and informational email communications (e.g. Friday Notes, Park Parent newsletter, PA newsletter, division head message to families) using content management systems and blog platforms.
Manage the creation of an annual literary/art magazine in collaboration with art and humanities faculty.
Plan, oversee and manage annual student/faculty photo days.
Identify and coordinate external photography needs, and hire and oversee photographers in support of The Park School’s marketing and communication needs.
Design and implement seasonal advertising programs in support of strategic marketing goals defined in partnership with the Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications and the Director of Enrollment Management.
Support, extend, articulate, and enhance understanding of The Park School’s mission, values, and distinctive character through all community relations channels.
Oversee planning and execution of a specific set of community events each year working in partnership with a team of event managers in the Development and Enrollment Offices.
Partner with the Development office to provide creative support for other campus events, including campaign events, grandparents day, and alumni reunions.
Support communications need surrounding community events, including invitations, and event follow-up.
Support liaison effort for Parents’ Association communications and events.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
Fluent in GSuite, and website content management systems (i.e. Veracross, Finalsite, WordPress).
Proficiency in print and design, photo, and multimedia editing tools.
Experience with email and digital marketing communication tools.
Exercises sound judgment as a final reviewer and approver.
Experience working in a diverse community and a strong interest in contributing to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment at work.
Adept at prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to consistently provide a high level of customer service and responsiveness.
Extended periods of sitting, standing, and working at the computer.
5+ years of experience in communications or related fields.
Some travel, weekends and evenings may be required.
