The Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning is looking for a coordinator to serve as a member of the Marketing and Communications team. We manage a broad array of efforts including marketing, branding, communications, and media relations to increase awareness and inquiry across all academic offerings, enhance engagement with others, and further establish the college's position as an institution shaping the future of learning in architecture and urban planning. You are someone with an understanding of marketing and communications; applicable skills to create content, including written, digital, and multimedia to support multichannel strategies; project management skills; and a collaborative mindset to assist with a variety of projects and priorities. Reporting to the director of marketing and communications (our organizational chart), you will have a portfolio of responsibilities and provide general support for planning and implementing targeted strategies in this newly created position.
While this job is situated in Ann Arbor and some on-campus work is expected, Taubman College offers flexible work arrangements for staff.
- Support writing and sharing of news and information to partners and media outlets, monitor resulting publicity using reporting tools
- Help with internal communications and public programming promotions including a weekly events email and a monthly college update
- Perform a variety of project management responsibilities to ensure the execution of strategies, including assisting with the intake of requests and maintaining schedules for projects using a project management system
- Work collaboratively and creatively to support projects using a broad range of tools, responsibilities may include:
- Develop social media content and help monitor and encourage engagement
- Facilitate website content based on strategic messaging and search engine optimization best practices
- Help with content and design updates to presentations and promotional materials
- Maintain multimedia assets on a new enterprise digital asset management tool
- Help with list management, analytics, benchmarking research, and other tasks to ensure strategies and decisions are data-informed; assist with process improvement, monitoring, and documentation
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1 or more years of relevant work experience (internships and student employment count)
- Experience drafting original content for news releases, web pages, social media posts
- Impeccable copy editing, grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills
- Familiarity with various communication tools such as content management systems (WordPress, etc.); social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, and others); Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects), presentation software (PowerPoint, Google Slides), and digital photography
- Ability to manage projects and timelines using a project management system (Asana, Trello, or similar tools)
The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000. Factors used to determine salary include experience, knowledge, and skills for the position. Candidates are encouraged to discuss salary questions to honor alignment and transparency throughout the recruiting process.
