Responsible for overall management of Marketing department in accordance with bank policies as well as state and federal laws to effectively meet or exceed organizational goals.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Create and implement strategic marketing plans that support organizational goals.
Coordinates and leads the graphic design of branded marketing materials. Given subject matter and concepts, invents, creates, and produces graphic design work for Marion County Bank while working within compliance requirements regulated by law.
Support individual Departments with their specific marketing efforts and campaigns to meet department organizational goals.
Coordinates and leads the Marketing Committee.
Maintain a working knowledge of regulatory, economic, competitive, and technological environments that may impact the marketing function. Ensure marketing materials are in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
Monitor and analyze industry trends, developments, emerging markets, local economic conditions, and other relevant trends, both local and otherwise, for their potential impact on the organization.
Coordinate all aspects of the bank’s overall marketing strategy including media relations, product promotions, social media, collateral materials, advertising, website content, direct mail, etc.
Manage the design, development, and distribution of promotional materials.
Maintain the bank’s brand standards for all communications.
Manage the bank’s social media presence in accordance with marketing goals.
Partner with bank department managers and the executive team to create, develop and introduce new products and services through appropriate communications channels.
Serve on product development teams as needed
Maintain a working knowledge of communications channels
Develop and maintain contacts with vendors, advertising agencies, media, industry marketing organizations, Iowa Bankers Association, etc.
Act as a communications advisor for the development of customer communications for external use.
Create and distribute external newsletters, print and electronic, to inform customers and the marketplace including content development, layout, design, and distribution.
Manage the bank’s public relations function to increase community awareness, attract new customers and promote the bank’s favorable image.
Support the implementation and coordination of the bank’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) program.
Represent the bank’s positive image by developing and maintaining strong positive relationships with businesses, community organizations and civic groups.
Coordinate and implement special events for the bank. Represent the bank’s interest in select community projects/events. Maintain a vigorous awareness of community initiatives and make recommendations to the executive management regarding the bank’s involvement.
Oversee the bank’s charitable contribution process. Analyze contribution requests, make recommendations to the CEO/President, track/report progress and reconcile budget in cooperation with the CEO.
Participate in civic and professional organizations consistent with company guidelines as directed or as approved in advance by management.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field required.
Five or more years of marketing or communication experience required.
Strong computer skills including Graphic Design software and creative talent required; demonstrated ability to be proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and specific bank programs.
Experience in media relations, project management and social media.
Strong writing skills with attention to grammar and usage along with a working knowledge of communication channel differences.
