SNMA seeks a Marketing Manager to support our efforts to:
To maintain SNMA’s reputation as the authoritative voice and leader in academic preparation, leadership development, and recruitment of underrepresented minority medical students.
Develop a plan to increase the visibility of SNMA programs and initiatives to members and key stakeholders, and public-facing audiences (sponsors, alumni, and the general public)
Distinguish Annual Medical Education Conference (AMEC) as the premier conference for education, leadership, and networking opportunities for underrepresented minority medical students
Enhance overall digital footprint
Improve the visibility of digital publications (JSNMA, SNMA Pulse)
Candidate must be: Organized and self-motivated with a keen interest in driving strategic messages to internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, strategic thinker with meticulous attention to detail, exceptional writing skills, working well under pressure, and meeting deadlines: proactive project management and organizational skills and a portfolio of work available for review.
Key Responsibilities
Work with the Executive Director to develop and implement an integrated communication and marketing plan.
Work with internal stakeholders, including staff and committee members, to coordinate and effectively communicate with their target audiences, such as members, exhibitors, sponsors, donors, or alumni, through multi-channel marketing.
Guides production of weekly and monthly newsletters, including tracking metrics and identifying/implementing improvement
Create graphics, programs, and other supporting visuals for SNMA programming, including for campaigns and events.
Manage creative projects throughout their life cycle by working with external vendors (i.e., graphic design, video production)
Assist with overall website maintenance through webpage edits, including content updates and uploads.
Oversee SNMA’s branding guidelines and ensure compliance with intellectual property are met internally/externally by providing training during new board onboarding.
For SNMA’s annual conference (AMEC), you will:
Lead AMEC marketing and promote sponsorship/exhibitor opportunities
Produce AMEC marketing assets and collateral, including digital and print deliverables
Manage production lifecycle of the AMEC program book, including compiling advertising artwork, program content and coordinating with the graphic designer
Manage on-site AMEC communications and other conference support
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, or a related field (essential)
A minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing (essential)
Intermediate professional experience in graphic design and working with Adobe Creative Suite (strongly preferred)
Experience in association, member-based organization (preferred)
Enthusiasm for SNMA’s mission and the role of a diverse healthcare workforce

Our mission is to support current and future underrepresented medical students by addressing the needs of underserved communities and increasing the number of clinically excellent, culturally competent, and socially conscious physicians. SNMA has a membership of more than 7,000 medical students, residents, and physicians, in ten regions, 115 SNMA chapters, and 96 premed students (MAPS) Chapters across the United States and the Caribbean.
