Successful candidate will report to the Assistant AD for Athletic Communications and is responsible for assisting in all aspects of promoting Winthrop’s 16 NCAA Division I athletic teams. Will be assigned as primary contact of 2-3 selected sports with the responsibility of developing and managing publicity for those teams.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Be required to work nights and weekends within the allotted weekly hour limit
• Attend games for coverage of assigned sport as well as other events
• Keep or assist with in-game statistics/scoring
• Generating press releases, social media content, game notes
• Assist in updating the athletic website (bios, statistics, record books, typical maintenance)
• Assist with social media content and/or video production
• Assist with certain aspects of marketing

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and admission into one of Winthrop University's Graduate Programs.

Interest in and knowledge of various sports. Experience working with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, photo/video editing software. Knowledge of in-game statistical software (Statcrew/NCAA Livestats) preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects in an effective and timely manner. Strong verbal and written communication.
