Job Summary
The person in this role co-leads the Marketing Analytics team, which is tasked with generating insights from data across websites, mobile apps, email, paid media (search, social, display), social media listening, etc. These insights and reports inform decisions on marketing campaigns that impact student experience, enrollment, and university reputation. This is a leadership role, reporting to the Director of Digital Marketing & Analytics.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
Manages a growing team of Marketing Data Analysts and part-time analytics interns.
Fosters the professional development of direct reports.
Co-creates, prioritizes, and leads the implementation of the university's marketing analytics roadmap.
Proactively communicates findings and actionable optimization recommendations to stakeholders by distilling complex information into common language.
Serves as a subject matter expert on marketing analytics, staying up to date with the latest tools and technologies.
Collaborates with internal stakeholders and agency partners to fully understand campaign executions, KPIs, and develop analytical frameworks.
Manages contracts and relationships with marketing analytics vendors.
General Responsibilities
Provides day-to-day operational management of data analysis staff.
Establishes short-term operational objectives.
Identifies operational issues and/or areas of improvement and implements solutions to improve processes and/or operational efficiency.
Analyzes, monitors, and evaluates performance of assigned staff; establishes work priorities, conducts performance reviews, and provides corrective action as needed.
Ensures adequate staffing and effective scheduling; participates and informs employment decisions for assigned staff.
Provides direct supervision and oversight of assigned staff and activities; impacts, and is held accountable for, the performance of team and/or assigned staff.
Ensures and provides training to assigned staff to improve data analysis operations; researches and identifies development opportunities for assigned staff.
Researches and stays up-to-date on new industry data analysis standards, best practices, and emerging technology; keeps next-level leader(s) informed of trends as well as significant problems.

Bachelor's degree
Preferred
Degree in computer science, information science, or a related field
WORK EXPERIENCE

2 years of data analysis, reporting, or related experience

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Work Location
This position has the potential to be located on any Indiana University campus with occasional travel to other campuses.
