The Assistant Director for Admissions Marketing & Communications is responsible for creating high quality and engaging content for use across a variety of platforms that will increase engagement with our target audiences, including prospective and admitted students, their parents, and school counselors. Reporting to the Associate Director for Marketing & Communications, the incumbent acts as a digital content specialist, developing original content for Instagram, TikTok, and other channels, the Admissions website, and email communications to support recruitment and yield efforts.
This person will promote the University at both on- and off- campus programs, which include public presentations. This staff member will manage a recruitment territory, building relationships with prospective students and their families, school counselors and representatives from community-based organizations. In this role, they will also develop a working knowledge of high school curriculums, interview prospective students and evaluate undergraduate applications. This person will serve as a member of the selection team and support the overall execution of strategic departmental and institutional enrollment goals.
Examples of Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a social media marketing plan, creating engaging content for prospective students through video, photography, and other interactive content. Manage student social media ambassadors, and identify new opportunities and best practices for social media and digital marketing channels.
Provide editorial support and creative input for email and print communications and the admissions website. Work with the Associate Director to create personalized, integrated marketing campaigns. Assist with day-to-day marketing activities.
Conduct holistic review of first-year and transfer applications and be an active participant in committee.
Present information sessions to audiences on-campus, off-campus and virtually, and serve as resource for campus visitors on a regular basis.
Manage a recruitment territory- including travel, college fairs, receptions, information sessions, high school visits and virtual outreach.
Bachelor’s degree required plus 2-5 years related work experience.
Experience with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, strong editing and proofreading skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Videography and photography skills and CRM experience are also desired.
Demonstrated strong process management skills; organizational skills; problem solving, and decision making.
Must be organized, an excellent presenter, communicator and collaborator, with the ability to work with overlapping project deadlines. Ability to build strong relationships with admissions staff and colleagues across campus and work well as part of team.
Skill and sensitivity to issues of diversity, equity and inclusion as they affect the college admissions process; a demonstrated commitment to building a strong and diverse applicant pool, and an awareness of how systemic economic and racial inequity in students’ secondary school backgrounds impacts their application to college.
A driver’s license is required.
Evening and weekend work are occasionally necessary.
This position is eligible for 1-2 days of remote work per week at certain times of the year after an initial probationary period.
