WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Social Media Specialist develops original content by utilizing creative ways to attract consumers to promote client brands in the social media world. This position acts as a lead for the social content of specific brands, ensuring that the content and targeting follow the strategic direction set by the team lead while discovering new opportunities to set client channels apart from competitors. Ideating creative campaigns, managing and optimizing paid ads and social reporting are just a few of the Social Media Specialist’s duties.
As a content creator, the ideal candidate will have experience with writing copy, basic graphic design, and social video creation. The Social Media Specialist is familiar with not just writing posts, but also creating and implementing campaigns, capitalizing on trending ideas, and testing platform updates for client success.
This role is significant not only for social content and campaign management but also responsible for understanding what is going on in the competitive realm. Asking “What is happening….?”, “Who is doing what and how can we elevate…?” with the goal of bringing new ideas to the client(s) and team members in order to grow client business and the Midan relationship. Key areas for this position:
Has well-developed analytical skills and ability to find opportunities to optimize paid campaigns across social channels
Has excellent recall of voice, tone, audience, and goals of individual brands & channels (can effortlessly switch tone from B2B to B2C within daily tasks)
Helps to refine the broader brand strategy for social efforts (i.e., planning social assets based on running campaigns, adapting imagery and videos for social, etc.)
Considers new trends & channel opportunities for clients (TikTok, Lasso, etc.)
Proactively shares trending social opportunities along with logistics to create content wins
Creates and applies insights for optimized channel performance, along with new copy/content ideas on a regular basis based on these insights
Produce and manage social media content on social platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.
Consider new trends & channel opportunities for clients (TikTok, Lasso, etc.)
Execute paid media campaigns across social media platforms with detailed reporting
Proactively share trending social opportunities along with logistics to create content wins
Set up and optimize brand social pages within multiple platforms to increase brand visibility
Manage multiple brand presences on social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, posting on relevant blogs, video content, and live streaming, and seeding content into social applications as needed
Ensure engaging messaging and adherence to best practices for each platform with the guidance of content calendars
Keep up to date with best practices in content writing, social media, and business/Industry trends
Understand the broader marketing funnel and what roles social media and content play

WHO ARE YOU?
As a content creator, you have experience with writing copy, basic graphic design, and social video creation. You always strive to do a great job and can work independently as well as in a team environment. You care about quality at every level and have great attention to detail. You love to learn and grow and be recognized for your valuable contributions. You’re not intimidated by innovation or change. In fact, you welcome it. You also have:
Two to three years of organic and paid social media experience – content development, community management, reporting, etc.
Experience using social media platforms for business, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+, etc.
Working knowledge of content management systems, i.e., WordPress
Experience using Canva and other non-Adobe image manipulation tools for social graphics
Experience writing copy for several social media clients (character counts, CTAs, etc.)
Experience working collaboratively in a heavily cross-functional, fast-paced environment to achieve goals
Creative thinking with the ability to work well autonomously as well as with a team
Exceptional communication skills, both one-on-one and across all levels of management
Experience with social media management tools, like Sprout Social, Hootsuite, etc.
What would be a PLUS for us is for YOU TO HAVE…
Influencer marketing experience – researching influencers for strategic campaigns, developing content with influencers, and reporting on performance
Experience with Google Analytics and how to track the the performance of content
Digital Marketing growth path interests – SEO, PPC, Social Media, Website, Content
Experience using 3rd-party tools for content management, scheduling, distribution & reporting
Experience with social listening software, i.e., Meltwater, Brandwatch, etc.
A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications
