Reporting to the director of digital strategy, the digital strategist position provides leadership, consultation, advice, and project management to academic and administrative units across campus. Each web strategist has a portfolio of institutional clients to manage and collaborate with to ensure CMU brand alignment and robust, engaging content. The incumbents will help create a cohesive user experience and provide support to campus content publishers.
Bachelor's degree in digital media, marketing, communications, journalism, design or related field. Three years or more of relevant experience. Possess strong understanding of digital strategy, design, production and project management as well as digital marketing and accessibility. Ability to translate complex and varied inputs including data, user research, strategic direction, and broad industry research into compelling stories and actionable web content, in order to identify feasible options and evaluate strategic trade-offs. Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple initiatives and projects simultaneously. Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with some project management experience. Possess strategic mindset with outstanding program management and the ability to track multiple project deliverables and thrive in a complex, dynamic environment. Experience working with an enterprise-class content management system or digital experience platform. Strong customer service orientation. Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude. Possess critical thinking, analytical, and creative talent to develop a concept, idea, or content into a strong visual presentation that maximizes marketing effectiveness. Ability to effectively present conceptual solutions to stakeholders and team members and key stakeholders. Experience leading internal and client presentations. Excellent written and verbal communication, including strong editing, grammar, and proofreading skills. Experience working cross-functionally within a team. Ability to work independently, as well as on a team.
