The Web Specialist 2 maintains responsibility for updating, designing, developing, and implementing multiple web sites and digital platforms serving the School of Nursing (SON). The incumbent regularly meets with multiple stakeholders and customers to determine and evaluate the information that will be used in creating department/program websites as well as coordinating strategies for digital development, marketing and content authoring. The Web Specialist provides project leadership on departmental web projects and long-term web projects. The incumbent collaborates with related central OHSU resources, including OHSU social media and OHSU Marketing, and receives supervision and direction from the Senior SON Marketing & Communications Specialist for the strategic and continuous improvement of all sources of digital presence for the SON.
Function/Duties of Position
Web, SharePoint, & Social Media (100% of duties): Design, implement, maintain, update, and continuously improve all websites and digital platforms serving the mission of the SON. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Develop websites using HTML and other web authoring languages, scripting and technologies. Create custom graphics, images (buttons, logos, navigation, photos etc.), layouts, and data-based improvement of user interface.
Meet with stakeholders on a regular basis to gather information on their specific web needs and educate them on web guidelines and procedures.
Trains employees in web development, design and OHSU guidelines while providing technical expertise and assistance.
Provide strategic leadership on SON web projects, including in-depth, long-term planning which leverages data and analytics for continuous improvement.
Collaborate with SON Communications and Marketing to optimize digital presence for SON messaging using digital marketing technologies and strategies including A/B testing and SEO for maximizing marketing impact.
Maintain the SON SharePoint (Bridge) website.
Ensure compliance and collaboration with all OHSU policies and procedures for digital content.
Attend all related University-level meetings as a representative of OHSU and serve as a liaison between Web Services and SON, advocating for departmental needs.
Collaborate with central OHSU social media to implement and maintain best practices for all SON channels. Suggest new tools to enhance social media presence, marketing and recruitment, and implement them once approved.
Attend Marketing and Digital Deployment (MaDD) meetings representing the SON Website.
One year of web design and support experience that has provided advanced HTML knowledge.
Advanced experience using Photoshop and other graphics programs to create images.
Previous experience developing and optimizing websites for various customer needs.
Previous experience supporting social media applications.
