We are looking for a Director of Sales and Marketing who develops and implements sales and marketing strategies and methods for achieving annual sales targets for each level of care in the Community. Drives all aspects of the sales cycle, from prospect inquiries to resident admission and move-in. Develops a pipeline and cultivates relationships with prospective community residents. Promotes a positive image of the community and Sequoia Living, in harmony with the Sequoia Living Mission Statement.
What You Will Do:
Develops short- and long-term goals and objectives in consultation with the corporate Director of Sales and consistent with Sequoia Living Mission, Vision, Core Values, and commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Responsible for all community sales and maintaining budgeted occupancy by generating calls, tours and closing rates required to meet and exceed sales goals.
Identifies marketing trends to analyze prospect management and ensure a viable strategy is developed and executed.
Shepherds prospective residents through sales cycle to bring to contract closure.
Interviews and reviews records for approval of prospective residents; paperwork includes applications, contracts, financial reports, lead tracking, and sales reports. Develops pre-call plans for presentations and strategizes to advance prospective residents from lead to sale.
Supports renovations and customization of units, including coordinating efforts of Sales, Facilities and subcontractors.
Manages apartment staging process for showing to prospective residents and identifies opportunities to make apartments more attractive through renovations and consolidations.
Maintains critical lead information through the Customer Relationship Management system (CRM), including detailed customer interaction tracking and status code assignment.
Represents and positively promotes the community and Sequoia Living in public presentations and events. Plans and facilitates social and educational events and coordinates programs for prospective residents and applicants to maintain their interest during the sales cycle.
Develops annual marketing budget, establishes priorities for and monitors expenditures, approves charges, and prepares budget variance analysis.
Maintains knowledge of current local market trends and competitors in order to develop and execute effective sales and marketing plans.
Oversees the sales cycle, including providing tours and educating prospective residents and their families about contract options and entrance to the community.
Directs administrative operations and people management of the Sales Department. Interviews, hires, supervises, trains, motivates, and manages performance of Sales Department staff.
Identifies and develops relationships with potential referral organizations, including real estate agents, senior services agencies, community-based civic organizations, hospitals, churches and other senior services providers. Organizes and works with Resident Council committees to promote the community.
Develops and maintains semi-annual competitive analyses of direct competitors, e.g., Life Care and non Life Care CCRCs, and indirect competitors, e.g., Equity-based senior residential communities, Assisted Living and Memory Care communities, and SNFs.
Serves as a member of the enterprise-wide Marketing Committee, providing input on marketing and advertising strategies that affect the community, e.g., media plan, website, newsletters, advertisements, brochures, and other collateral materials.
Recognizes and reports concerns regarding residents’ physical, mental, and/or emotional status to a member of Management Staff.
Oversees department workplace safety and risk control programs to ensure employees are provided education and training regarding safe work practices and occupational exposure.

Comprehensive understanding of the CCRC Care and Residence Agreement.
Poised and professional appearance coupled with strong English written, verbal, and communication skills to represent the facility and Sequoia Living to the general public. Sensitive, diplomatic and knowledgeable of the issues relating to aging, particularly as applied to resident and family relationships.
Ability to collect, interpret and/or analyze complex data and information. Ability to close a sale. Ability to read and analyze financial statements of potential residents.
(8) years marketing and/or sales experience required. Prior sales and/or marketing experience in real estate, property management, public relations and/or senior residential living highly desired. Previous supervisory experience required.
