Job Summary: The Marketing Manager I is responsible for overseeing the marketing, public relations, event planning, fundraising, advertising and/or circulation responsibilities of a publication or program.
Additional Department Summary: The Marketing and Communications Manager participates in communications strategizing and execution to tell the story of Student Life as a part of the Student Life Communications and External Engagement team. Serves as the video lead on projects for over 20 departments within Student Life and for the office of the Vice President for Student Life. Works collaboratively with the divisional communications team on social media content creation and strategy, public relations, advertising and/or circulation responsibilities of a publication or program(s) for departments within the Division of Student Life. Completes required training and promoting a safe, hospitable, and respectful workplace.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional marketing, public relations, communications, or advertising experience; OR Master's degree.
Skills and Knowledge: Proficiency in videography, including the Premier Pro or Adobe After Effects software to edit videos. Demonstrated ability with capturing and creating video content. Ability to use camera equipment to create high-quality videos utilizing proper microphones and lighting. Ability to work with others in a team environment. Excellent project management and time management skills. Excellent ability to write for diverse audiences and communication channels. Demonstrated ability to develop proactive communication plans within deadlines. Demonstrates initiative and creativity in promotional and design efforts. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. Knowledge of accessibility standards for print and electronic medias.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc. Experience supervising and managing interns and student workers. Experience promoting and managing communications for departments and programming related to Student Life. Experience in developing/managing communication campaigns. Experience in photography, videography, graphic design, print and electronic media.
