The National Security Space Association (NSSA) is seeking a bright, energetic, self-motivated, detail-oriented marketing and communications manager to join our team of talented professionals in a rapidly growing industry association, assisting with day-to-day association activities.
NSSA (www.nssaspace.org) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit support association solely dedicated to the National Security Space enterprise, to include the Department of Defense, U.S. Space Force, and the Intelligence Community. NSSA works to advance long-term cooperation among industry and government, leading the way with expert opinion, insight and analysis.
The Marketing Communications Manager will lead all marketing communications efforts and provide general support across a variety of tasks, including event planning, workforce development, membership development, member relations, and other duties as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities
Marketing Communications
Lead all marketing communications efforts to include general marketing of the association, events, and membership programs
Lead creation and distribution of weekly email newsletter and other email marketing efforts
Expand on existing social media footprint across a variety of platforms to increase visibility of the association and its offerings. Use social media to promote events, share community news, and more
Create and maintain a comprehensive communications plan and calendar
Lead transition to new website (currently being built) and maintain it to provide timely, relevant information
Lead media outreach and cultivating media contact relationships
Manage contact and distribution lists to maintain up to date information
Maintain organizational overview presentations to maintain accuracy
Membership Development
Develop relationships with potential and current industry partners
Track various points of contact within member organizations
Assist membership team in developing marketing tools in support of the membership and event programs
Event Planning
Planning for in-person and virtual events at both the unclassified and classified level
Support all event logistics activities
Support planning and presentations for Board of Advisors and Board of Directors meetings
Coordinate logistics for workforce development programs and events
Education / Experience
Required
Bachelor's Degree.
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience for or with industry associations, private sector industry, or government
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to consistently meet deadlines
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while meeting deadlines and attending to the smallest of details
Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to travel, including weekends
Ability to work and support events outside of normal work hours, to include nights and weekends
Preferred
Experience in national security or space a plus
CAE or other relevant professional certifications are a plus
Active security clearance a plus
