The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS), a Washington, DC based trade association represents the nation’s nearly one million workers in the plastics industry. PLASTICS seeks a Senior Manager of Marketing to develop and implement integrated marketing strategies and promotional campaigns across the organization. In partnership with the Senior Director of Marketing & Events, the Senior Manager of Marketing will build and execute marketing campaigns to achieve participation, engagement, retention, and revenue growth for events, membership, research, and other products and services. The Senior Manager, Marketing will be an all-around seasoned professional with exceptional communication, organizational, and time management skills and the flexibility to adapt quickly to change to nurture and grow PLASTICS’ revenue portfolio.
Responsibilities:
Work cross-departmentally to develop and execute marketing promotions for association activities and initiatives including promotional campaigns, email sends, print ads, social promotion, and paid advertising.
Establish email marketing and social media strategies and workflows (e.g., segmentation, drip campaigns, retargeting, content development, paid and organic advertising, etc.) to increase event participation and improve digital engagement.
Partner with the Membership team to develop and implement membership recruitment, onboarding, retention, and engagement strategies.
In partnership with the Information Technology (IT) team, develop internal standard operating procedures (SOPs) and oversee a consolidated email calendar to ensure high deliverability and engagement; execute on association website strategy and updates.
Work closely with the Digital Design & Brand Manager to develop print and digital assets that support broader marketing plans, ensuring pieces adhere to brand standards and are appealing to recipients.

Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field or equivalent work experience.
A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar or related position in marketing or communication with a successful track record in membership and audience acquisition, marketing analytics to inform and improve campaign strategy, and growing membership/customer programs or membership/customer retention and renewal; trade association or marketing/PR agency experience preferred.
Experience with Hubspot, Mailchimp, WordPress, and/or project management software.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge of digital marketing tactics including segmentation, drip campaigns, tracking and retargeting, paid and organic advertising, and SEO to market programs and services.
Written and verbal communication skills with diverse stakeholder audience.
Self-motivated with attention to detail, problem-solving, organizational, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize and work on a variety of projects simultaneously, adjust to changing priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver results.
Ability to work well autonomously and collectively to build consensus.
Ability to provide customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
An earnest work ethic and dedication to collective success of the organization in service of our membership.
A commitment to promoting and working in an inclusive and diverse environment with a variety of colleagues from multiple backgrounds.
Working knowledge with Microsoft Office, email service provider (ESP), and web.
Ability to travel (<25%).
