NYC Communities for Health (NYCC4H) is a prevention–based and SAMHSA-funded program at NYU Silver School of Social Work. Our mission is to prevent HIV/STIs, underage drinking, and substance use through community prevention education, harm reduction resources, and referrals to social/health services to ensure safer cities and healthier futures for Bronx youth ages 13-24. By addressing historical health injustices impacting Black and Latinx communities in the Bronx, we seek to disrupt health disparities that disproportionately impact behavioral health among Bronx communities. NYCC4H also provides harm reduction education, such as overdose prevention and response training with fentanyl test strips (FTS) and naloxone (NARCAN®).
The NYCC4H program is currently seeking an experienced Research Social Media Specialist to oversee NYCC4H social media platforms, digital communications and research data. The research specialist will develop and implement creative social media campaigns, manage our online research platforms, and increase our social media engagement. The Research Social Media Specialist will work closely with the Program Manager to ensure alignment with NYCC4H programmatic goals and objectives.
Description of Duties and Responsibilities
Develop evidence-based prevention messaging and strategies centered around underage drinking, substance use, and unsafe sexual behavior and ensure dissemination of these messages and strategies.
Evaluate social media campaigns to measure metrics that include but are not limited to online impressions, audience reached, the number of likes, comments, shares, clicks, and conversions generated by each campaign to meet the evaluation and research requirements of the project sponsor.
Analyze collected data to identify patterns and trends that indicate successful campaigns, which social media platforms generated the most engagement, and which content formats were most effective to meet the evaluation requirements of project sponsor.
Report findings to project PI, researchers, and other key stakeholders to optimize future campaigns by suggesting adjustments to content, targeting, timing, or platforms and ensure alignment with overall program objectives and initiatives.
Create and curate engaging content for various social media channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
Monitor and respond to user comments and messages in a timely and professional manner.
